Lester 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Keep cool, sometimes I'm tired from work, have no time or i doesn't enjoy modelling. ... and my friends need me too The work on the wagons ist nearly done, only 'little fixes' remain. (the ratio of a texture, change of a selfmade texture to a resistance texture looks nearly identical and some outer text label textures must be done) I'm not a fan of half done release pictures, which can change once again like my personal waggon. (the indoor view were also the first Lod outside view ) We've planned to release a bunch of pictures and little animation presents the opportunities of the waggons. [EDIT] Sorry, monday i have to be a week on business, so the screens must wait a little longer [/EDIT]

Lester 0 Posted June 25, 2004 Here the promised screens from the wagons http://www.ohne.org/AEFwagonpix Shown features: - the sliding doors work nearly linear (best possible) - the ads in the personal wagon are changeable via settexture - changeable heap texture in the 'flat' goodswagon - changeable tank, label and sign textures for the fuelwaggon - stake wagon is 'loadable' with 12 crates, tubes, barels and a lot of original OFP models, such as us trucks , civil trucks / cars, resistance trucks, wrecks and of course men

Unnamed_ 0 Posted June 25, 2004 Looks excellect. I have to ask. Can it travel on gradients, or does the track have to be on level terrain ? Cheers P.S Any plans for an Island with an intergrated Air,Sea, Road & Rail system?
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted June 25, 2004 Nice stuff Lester!!! Will the train wagons that can carry vehicles be "loadable" like BAS's scripts where you drive your vehicle to the desired position and then it gets clamped down in position?
Fragster 0 Posted June 26, 2004 wow... its amazing, its GREAT!! How long do you think it will be until there's a release?
Fragster 0 Posted June 26, 2004 How about some pics of the engine?
bmgarcangel 0 Posted June 26, 2004 lol yes the engine. So how well does this system work, eh?
Fragster 0 Posted June 26, 2004 yeah, are there gaps between the wheels and the track as it goes round corners? Or do they stick to the rails like their ment to? Does it turn the corner smoothly? Or does it go round with sudden un-real jerks (LOL! i know that last bit sounds funny!! ) PS i don't know why... at the end of that post i nearly wrote "txt bak" ......don't ask
Nathanz 0 Posted June 26, 2004 Wow ! kavoven 4 Posted June 26, 2004 Hi, yes, the screenshots are made on Phoenix Island, you can see the eastern part near the airport ;) There're already screenshots of the engine available, just scroll down on our site 3 news. Lester is currently reworking the engine, but it should also be finished in a week oder two. And yes, the train can drive everywhere, hills up and down, there are circles (mhm, is it the english term for kurve?) Perhaps I can show you a few Screenshots of the tracks going through mountanious land.

Fragster 0 Posted June 26, 2004 Theres only one thing to say about all this...... wow...... This will be by far the best thing in the whole OFP world. But with all these new things, how big will the total file be? Will it be 56ker friendly? But even if its not, it'll still be the first in my download list!! I'm sure i speak for everybody when i say You guys are great! Keep up the good work and we can't wait for a release!!
Nathanz 0 Posted June 26, 2004 ............. and we can't wait for a release date!! Â Â Fixed
kavoven 4 Posted June 26, 2004 So, here theay are Screenshots 1 Screenshots 1 Please notice, that the version of the engine i'm using is missing a textur on the side, but I think you should look at the terrain ;) The engine will be finished in the next 2 weeks I think, but I won't say more then I wrote on our homepage: Complete release in the next 2 month possible
Nathanz 0 Posted June 26, 2004 Complete release in the next 2 month is possible I see on the AEF website that its possible that the campaign wont be released due to a small amount of mission makers BUT I cant wait for the mod to be released !
Fragster 0 Posted June 26, 2004 Cool pics! Looks great! I'm really interested to know how it all works: -will you be able to choose your wagons to put on the train? -If so, how would you do it? if its as simple as placing it in the editor, where abouts in the editor would you place it? -Will there be a steam train version? (for later releases) -Will it be laggy? -Will it be AI friendly? -Do i ask to many questions? Keep up the good work!
