Nogova 2004

I found a Nogovan Flag Pack over at opf.info are these the ones you meant?

Sorry to dig up this old post, but I made those flags. I updated the pack (using Photoshop this time)

If you'd like, I could give it to those who want it. I could post the link. Feel free to mess with them and do whatever you want. The images are now in 256x128 and are JPGs with highest quality. The images stretch on the flags, something which I cannot fix, but it is miniscule, not very noticeable.

It has Nogova in old times, Nogova as a soviet Republic, Nogovian Peoples Socialist Republic, and Nogova today. Military districts, etc.

So, If you want, I'll give you the new one. Has quite a few flags too. Some for Everon, Karjala, the future Maldevich, etc.

Anyhow, this looks like an amazing project.

for Vic's house, instead of redoing the texture to add the plaque how about leaving it as is, but make a small sign model to place in front of house? like this

That's what I was thinking besides a tunnel is pretty hard to make.

Your help is welcome but I don't know if I am going to use them since the flag is pretty much decided. But thanks for the help.

And thank you all for the support and suggestions. I am making huge progress on it and hope to release it within a month or two. I will come with some pictures later this day smile_o.gif

I wouldn't mind seeing a few more farms on nogovo. Y'know sort of out the way on hill sides sort of thing.

Well, the northern nogovan shore has some nice steep cliffs that could have some waterfalls... here are some nice locations!

I have seen the AEF waterfall and I really liked it, but I am not a scripting genius and I don't know if the AEF is still alive. So don't expect it in the first version, maybe later wink_o.gif

I've last drawn them out with the Trains in OFP thread, but the team has changed since the release of the video I guess; nevertheless it's individual members are mostly still out there, maybe you could contact them for help? wink_o.gif

Nice! As for runway lights, that should be easy; I remember phaeden's island still of the time of CWC which had runways with integrated landing lights... not that they were of much use, but nice to look at... surely stronger lights have come out, so I guess integrating practical lights could be done... (and yeah, I also hate to land on an airfield at night without lights, lol). tounge_o.gif

Not yet but I will try to reduce it with AI paths. Or else I will have to wait till Delta and me will start on the scripts for the Texas teaser island wink_o.gif

Hmm, about the gas stations, I wonder if you could substitute the concrete-square-slabs texture with something looking like a proper large gas station parkinglot/drivethru ground texture?

Back on topic...heres a perfect place(IMHO)for the main monument.Its not too far from Victors home town.

Hey, forgive me for all I say but belive me, I want the best for this project! The thing is I belive you don't know highways well, and all the time there, I se you're making T or X crossections on the highway there. Even for the fuel station.

Highway is a road for fast cars, meaning - the curves must be wide, so that fast cars won't fall of the curve by too high speed.

And when you drive into the highway, you should do it as fast as it is possible. It is easier to drive in with a low angle drive-in, than with a 90° T-drive-in....

To explain you how it should be, I've modified your latest screen to explain what are the "wide curves". Compare both poctiures. The way you did it, the car would have to wait for a long time to join the highway, because he would have to do it slowly (90° angle at very short distance). On the picture below, the angle is low, so it is far easier to drive in the highway. And that is how real highway look.....

For the X crossings, I understand you are not able to make all bridges and so, but at least make it X with ")" shaped shortcuts between X's arms, that would make it easier to join the highway... that would work better, and look nicer (especially with solid blockades around)...

As for other things in your project, so long it is great :]

Okay, back to my previous post, here are two pictures to show the general idea from the bird's sight of view :]

The first picture is a fuel station, the second is the highway crossing with normal road. I know there are lots of roads and AI probably will ride anyway they want, but...

a) there is a hope AI will be smart and use the shortest way, and the easy curve will prevent it from falling off the road :]

b) remember this is for people, not for computers to play :]]]

As I think and think, it may be even simpler than I tought to make a real (non-collision) highway entrance. You could rise a part of highway to make a bridge, like on that pic:

and place a normal road under the bridge. That would really be a simplest solution and then it would be 100% realistic.

You could then even intersect 2 highways...

And it would be really easy! And AI wouldn't have problems with that :]
