Doc. Zaius 0 Posted June 5, 2004 Can an Apache Longbow sucessfully lock up a Lotus Exige at minimum range? Silly, but entertaining nonetheless. Ironsight 1 Posted June 5, 2004 Cool I also saw once an episode of Top Gear where they were having a speed contest between a dump car with a super engine and a Harrier on an aircraft carrier

Ironsight 1 Posted June 5, 2004 Sweetness Do you got more Topgear movies? I wanna watch :P Waffen, you can watch Top Gear in the Netherlands every friday night on Veronica at 21.
Doc. Zaius 0 Posted June 5, 2004 This is what too much time on one's hands looks like. On a side note, I had no idea Flashpoint's aircraft take steps to avoid colliding into ground vehicles when flying very low. That's quite cool. Anyhow, back on topic: A video of the 'aforementioned Harrier vs Dump car with super engine on an aircraft carrier' segment is available here. It's a Real Video file, though. You flight sim fans going around ruining our aviation fantasies. Have you watched the clip though? The test parameters made the demonstration about as realistic as that Comanche scene in The Hulk. As I said, silly but entertaining.
shadow 6 Posted June 5, 2004 LOL Just saw the movie. That's some funny stuff Isn't that the same guy who does all these car-programs on Discovery? He got it wrong though. The Apache can carry up to 16 HFs and looks sweeet Entertaining none the less.
Doc. Zaius 0 Posted June 5, 2004 He got it wrong though. The Apache can carry up to 16 HFs and looks sweeet Agreed on both points. (My mind exploded trying to work out twelve Hellfires and 72 FFARs.) And, yes, Clarkson hosts some other things. I especially liked a series he fronted called 'Speed' where he did stuff like ride a jet powered bicycle and put an English Electric Lightning in his garden, much to his wife's chagrin. Placebo 29 Posted June 7, 2004 Jeremy Clarkson is the Son in law of Major Robert Cain VC, he wrote, directed and presented a fascinating documentary about the VC and specifically about Major Robert Cain and how he won it, if anyone gets the chance to watch it do so. For anyone patient enough to read it there's a nice long in depth article about Major Cain here, basically he was wounded repeatedly over a number of days but refused to leave the battle and wanted to destroy as many German tanks as he could, he ended up firing a mortar from the hip and took out two more tanks that way. One of the most heroic actions of the war, and then after the war he quietly went back to his life, his daughter didn't even know he'd won the VC until after his death in 1974.
