Chris Death 0 Posted May 9, 2004 I just got an idea for ww2 addons which would be awsome in case it's possible. First: yes i did a search but "flying boat" returns all threads where "flying" or "boat" was found in - and "flyingboat" or "flyingboats" didn't return me a single thread. Therefore i'd like to suggest you guys have a look to the 3 links below, where you can read a lot about flyingboats + many pics. When i say flyingboat, i'm not talking about seaplanes - i'm talking about big flying babes. awww why shall i talk over talk - best you have a look for yourself as i wouldn't be able to explain any better than those 3 links could do: http://wmilitary.neurok.ru/wwiiflyingboats2.html http://www.blueridgephotographs.com/FLYINGBOATS.HTM http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/LRG/seaplane.html Now imagine if it would be possible in any way to get such a thingy to work in OFP - no more "there's only one runway" issues - land or start your plane wherever you want except on dryland. I'm lookin forward to anything goin into this direction. ~S~ CD
Scud 0 Posted May 9, 2004 I am pretty sure a 'Catilina' is in the works. and I was planning 'Sunderland' later after next 2 models.
FW200 0 Posted May 9, 2004 I have made a Shavrov Sh-2 Flying boat in the colors of the Finnish Air Force who captured 2 of these http://www.tacticalblunder.com/~hammer/uploads/FW200/Photograph3.jpg Here you see her flying next to a Fokker D.XXI. The plane needs new textures probably and new anims
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted May 9, 2004 There's already a float plane (Cessna made by Capt. Moore), so making some like He-115 wouldn't be much of a problem I guess (not me though, I'm not an addon-maker  )... Making a flying boat... hmmm... I wonder if it won't affect the plane's main body damage too much if ya land a bit roughly... thank god there aren't any waves in OFP!!!  Still, there are also modern flying boats: A-40 A-40/Be-42Data
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted May 9, 2004 Trenchfeet made a Junkers Ju52 floatplane (not exactly a flyingboat as it uses pontoons rather than a hull-shaped fuselage): ftp://www.gamezone.cz:8021/ofpd/unofaddons2/Ju52b.exe There's also a normal wheeled version: ftp://www.gamezone.cz:8021/ofpd/unofaddons2/Ju52.exe
.granQ. 0 Posted May 9, 2004 something like that? made by ugga.
-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted May 9, 2004 Is that OFP??? Fully working???
.granQ. 0 Posted May 9, 2004 jepp thats ofp.. and fully working, well not really.. it has inside, and works nice, but we havn't done a system with "land on water and ground" that we are happy with, since you have moving gear and such it is abit more complicated then the float cessna... Chris Death 0 Posted May 11, 2004 that's what i expected to see and to hear guys Now if there isn't an issue with flying vehicles touching the water i'm really lookin forward to do some cool landing/takeoff scripts - also i think Unnamed is working actually on ai scripts to use more than one airport - these would come in very handy for him i believe mucho appreciated ~S~ CD
BraTTy 0 Posted June 17, 2004 I found this topic during a search for something else, I have the A6M2 Zero floatplane also in progress. The biggest obstacle in making a floatplane I think is the fact that it shouldn't be able to drive on land Of course the PbyA that Klink and Ugga have in progress have retractable wheels tho

Could not get the Cessna FLoat plane to work as it wont return its Z position But the Junkers works a treat  Looking forward to getting my grubby hands on this one to, IMHO many of the larger planes have not had the same attention lavished on them compared to the fighters.
