one of the jpeg textures is 1024x1024. Even on a weapon this will cause lag when the weapon is used a lot.

Then you should've complained on the size of the textures, not the format. smile_o.gif

But yeh, thats a bit too big. 512x512 would work though.

Im not entirely opposed to using em. I just think they look nasty in comparison. I did package up a series of jpgs at different resolutions. And progressively use smaller skins for the higher lods. To kinda simulate mip mapping.

But if people really think its a problem, then I could change it.

Ok, then Ill just fix it up for pac textures. No big deal, Ill just throw up a new pbo on my ftp.

P_Machine, the handguards are the austrian/german style.

Thanks!!! Don't ge me wrong; I really like this weapon, but jpeg textures (and ones in 1024) kill my pc when I use them a lot. It's not that one weapon will make a difference, but I want to use 50, so that does make a difference. Thanks for the version with paa/pac!

Maybe use the jpgs for the first person LOD and paa for everything else.
