Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted April 24, 2004 That is not a word"! Czech Republic? Good team but take into consideration that since 18 years no hosting country won the cup! Not even 16 czech NHL players are gonna change that!

SpongeBob 0 Posted April 27, 2004 The World Championships are nothing compared to the World Cup of Hockey (offical site) this September. Â There, you will have 8 of the best countries representing, no Japan or France or other wanna-be hockey countries. You will have games played in Europe and North America at the same time: European Division (E): Czech Republic (CZE) Finland (FIN) Germany (GER) Sweden (SWE) North American Division (NA): Canada (CAN) Russia (RUS) Slovakia (SVK) United States (USA) Schedule And the teams will have time to practice together, unlike now when some players just show up after they finish their time in the national hockey league. Â For the WC, they will have time to gel during the summer, and the level of play will be vastly superior than what's being played now.
iNeo 0 Posted April 27, 2004 And the teams will have time to practice together, unlike now when some players just show up after they finish their time in the national hockey league. Good. 30th August through 14th September. Gonna be nice to watch
SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted April 27, 2004 Yeah im really looking forward to the world cup as well. I might add that the difference in popularity between the world cup and world championship is bigger in north american then in Europe. One of the reasons could be because the European leagues end their seasons earlier.
GoOB 0 Posted April 27, 2004 Just got back from watching Switzerland vs. Austria, good game but the Austrians really fouled up! And did anyone catch the sequences from the Denmark vs. Japan game? Both the own goal by the Japanese, and the extraordinary mix up concerning the wrong national anthem playing at the end of the game. The Danes weren't happy at all

Blake 0 Posted April 28, 2004 Sweden-Russia game was very exciting with situations developing all the time. Sweden was ultimately better as Russian got a bit tired towards the end but nevertheless on the last minute were very close evening the score Second best match so far (right after Finland-USA of course) Â
