Crate mule is out!

I do like the sound the mule makes when it gets shot however.  

I put it intencional (it is heavy breath) but i agree, it is awfull, i'll remove it, it sounds like a zombi  tounge_o.gif

Haha didn't I say he would come back! I think he likes the attention.

My friend is asking if Viet Cong used mules in the Vietnam war, he might do a mission with it. wink_o.gif So does anyone know for sure, I would guess yes, if civilians used it.

Thank you Mig for removing the sound!  Once its removed I'm going to stick the mule into many missions for sure!

The next version will be the animal pack and i wont release it very soon, but you can always remove the sound from the config smile_o.gif. Unpack the pbo and replace in my config :

Ok, that worked perfectly.

I recommend that you release this fixed version if the animal pack will be released a long time for now.

The reason I say this is because I know MANY people will be wanting to make missions with this mule but do not know how to UNPBO and repack addons. I know it is simple, but some things that are simple to me and you are difficult for other people.

So I hope that you do post an update of the mule somewhere.

i think it would be cool if there was one for each side so you could have a convoy of soldiers and mules

You can do this... simply group the mules with whatever platoon you want. Just make sure it is the last unit you add to that platoon and that they are privates so that they don't become squad leaders when your regular soldiers die.

As for the West side... hmm... I can't think of any modern Western armies that use mules except for special mountain units trained to operate in mountain terrain. US Army SF in Afghanistan use horses sometimes for example. I'm sure they'd happily use mules or donkeys if it meant carrying less equipment on their backs. But the downside about mules is that they can be noisy, tempermental thus not very covert unless the units are disguised as locals. The other bad thing is that they can run away at the sound of gunfire. LOL!

It's not good seeing half your squad's ammunition and supplies running off during a battle. LOL!

AFAIK mules are still in use with specialist mountain troops all over the world, including western and eastern europe.

Hey Just so everyone Knows I've made a deer to hunt (and Hockey_112 is working on the anims) so for all of you animal seekers out there.

Deer In OFP page

Also I've begun work on a crocodile,tiger, and a bear so keep watching that thread for updates. Also I'm working on a script to randomly place the deer near a soldier if there near a forest, and delete the animal when it goes out of view.:)

if anyone could help me with texturing that would be a huge HUGE HUGE help, bcause the textures look like crap.

Mig2003, if you're not planning on releasing a modified version of the mule, do you mind if I release a modified version of the mule zipped up with one of my missions???

The reason is that I'm using it in the DMS mission I'm working on and would rather not have to wait a long time for the animal pack to be ready.

If not, then could you please release an updated version because I know many mission makers are sure to want to use this mule in their missons.

If you want you can release your version of the mule without that noise, no problem wink_o.gif I will release the mule only in the farm animals pack and it will take some time so it will be a favour you are making  smile_o.gif

Try with 'unit addWeaponCargo ["weapontype",count]' , 'unit addMagazineCargo ["magazinetype", count]'
