1.Easy, just select the ''Contol'' after you have double-clicked the unit. If it is a red circle around the unit is means the you are that unit.

2. I might sudjest the MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING on this forum or OFPEC.com maybe (remember that OFPEC.com is down for now)

I will advise you to ask someone else at the last question.

Good luck m8  wink_o.gif

PS: You may might move this to Troubleshooting

it sounds as tho you are clicking preview or pressing enter before you have a unit on the map?

what you need to do is press f1 (function1 key) then double click on the map, click ok, then click preview

The error message is telling you that no player has been set on the map. Meaning, there are other units in various locales but the unit the person would play during the mission hasn't been established. Make sure you're in the unit category, or just press F1 (get rid of any error message that may pop up) and either double click on the map somewhere, go to control (where it says "not playable" or "player") and set it to "player". Then set up the rest of the parameters as you would like them in the mission and that unit will be the one the player uses during the mission. Otherwise if you already have the unit on the map, the editor hasn't been told to use that particular unit for that purpose. Double click on that particular unit you're intending the player to control and in the control box, set the "not playable" to "player". Then it should be fine.

As for your second question, I've found OFPEC good if you know exactally what your looking for. Otherwise if you're still kinda fuzzy on what you need, I'd post here. Someone is bound to help. Just watch out for the random jerk that stumbles by (as with anything in life). On the other hand, I've never used OFPEC's forum, only their website itself, so I can't say anything about their forum.
