Sukhoi fighter models

I have Su-27, 30 and 33's airframe models, all are textured and modeled quite accurately. Each model has desert, naval and grey camouflags also each camoflag has plain and multi-color schemes.

Detail parts are missing and also I have to add cockpit and gear models but first I have to learn what are the requirements... especially for gear animations

Anyway, I dont want to screw with scripting and exporting, may be somebody who have some experience, wants to work on model to import it into game, in the meantime I can improve textures and model. So, anybody wants to give it a try? please contact me via PM or Replies

PS: I also have Russian Grisha-5 ASW Corvette model, after some adding some detail parts it will be ready also.. OFP has few ships, a Guided missile Corvette with a VLS and GasTurbines would be very cool I think... Su-30_1.jpg

Yes, quite good but aint great however adding more detail on both texture and model will make it much better, only problem is upper side of wings, its more sleek in real Flankers, but it would cost too much poly if I made it smooth so it has a good trade-off between accuracy and simpleness.

anyways, my offer is open, besides I can send base model w textures whoever wants to work on model. I dont care about credit, I just want to see a detailed and working Flanker in OFP to counter Advanced US fighters smile_o.gif

Im sending Su-30 with 2 textures for now, it weights quite heavy, 1.2 Mb...

We have been working on a Su-34 and variants. If you would like some help getting those ingame yourself (learn some new stuff wink_o.gif ) than Id be happy to help you out.

SU-34 That is AWESOME!!!

Acting together would be great, using same ammo and scripts will make it much better for OFP players,

I would like to have some help and I would like to help! If you need anything to be modelled or textured...

BTW its nice to see that you didnt mirror the texture like many other people do...

I checked-out tutorial at http://www.ofp.info/brsseb/ and I noticed that it requires hell of a work to import it into game and besides, I dont want to add another crappy add-on, so I decided to get some help from experienced people...

Waffendennis has offered help to me, and I sent the model to him, but I guess we can all work together and develop a Sukhoi Flanker variants with advanced features...

Weapons,

I see that weapons on the model arent textured, and not many variants, I'm planning to add these weapons, (to model)

I have uploaded a updated model of Su-30, only cockpit and gears are missing, (also Gear holes arent in place yet)

I also added a photoshop version of texture, it has layers so you can alter the color of the camo easily in photoshop or paintshop (I recommend paintshop)

Weapons,

I see that weapons on the model arent textured, and not many variants...

The pic I linked to wasnt the best pic to show the weapons used. We are planning on only 2 different loadout versions. One naval and one mixed AA/AG. We allready have R27, R77, R73, Kh-31, RBK-250, KAB-500, and ZAB-500 munitions on the aircraft and working, even the napalm ( fun stuff  biggrin_o.gif ) Here is a better angle showing the weapons...

I took a look at your Su-30 models, look great, do you plan on having folding wings on the 33? Make sure to put some good anti-ship goodies on it, as soon as Hawk finishes that Nimitz carrier we are going to need something big to blow it up  biggrin_o.gif

Yes, I did see them after checking out your site,

I wonder if we can use a custom animation for the gears, or it has to retract to front always?

I can add folding wings to Su-33 easily, I just have to cut it between flaps and ailerons I guess smile_o.gif

Like I said, Im really intrested in ships, We can add some new stuff like Grisha and some other Frigates w helicopter decks, and even Kuznetsov, but can we implement these options to ships;

**is it possible to add a VLS (Vertical Launcher System) that can switch between weapons (SAM or SSM) and can swing and target independendly from Gun turret. And is it possible to make it animated when weapon switched or reloading (launcher retracted to bay below for reloading)

**is it possible to add a Anti-Air gatling gun to target incoming missiles? I saw some flare scripts make "flares" fly to missiles (unrealistic however usefull for Air Defence weapons of ships)

**I would like to add a boat to carry personnel from shore to ship, and it can be usable as an escape vessel when ship is critically damaged. Boat should be retractable to onboard (locked up, like BAS did on jeeps for MH-47) and deployable.

**And in sameway is it possible to carry a helicopter on back of ship (not for Grisha-5) pilots in ship cargo can board helicopter if ship is coded similar to MH-47 "fasten harness" when "holding steady" option

**Also, I would like to add a "activate Gas Turbines" option like afterburners of jet fighters, so ship can accelerate much faster...

Im working on Canopy and cockpit part in these days, does anybody know how it should look like? or a picture of Su-30 cockpit?? I couldnt find much visual content upon Su-30, I have Lock-On and it doesnt give too much clue about it as well...

by the way, as its going to be my first model it will be my first cockpit work also, I would like to get some help about creating instruments and gauges on console....

Nice stuff, BA

Folding wings are fairly easy to do, but it's often a good idea

to make them fully automatic (ie they fold down when speed

is above 50, and fold up when the engine is off, and the

speed is less than 10), so that you don't have to tell

the AI how to use them. Note that if you have ailerons on

the folding wings, you'll have to do some texture swapping

and hidden selections (Hudson knows about this, I think wink_o.gif)

Custom gear is easy as well: check out my Phantom, or

Skaircro's F-5 beta. There's a tutorial by Col. Klink as well.

Note that you can only rotate the gear around one axis,

unless you switch in and out some hidden selections. Sadly,

we can't apply RTM files to objects - hopefully this will be

possible in OFP2.

Mirrored textures aren't that bad - they do reduce the texture

size by a factor of 2, which can help on older machines. Oh,

and you're not using JPEG for textures, right?

Hudson - Are you using the pseudo-Proxy stuff on those

loadouts? Or have you got something else up your sleeve?

Thanks for detailed information, I will check tutorial for gears.

about textures, I like complete textures, however I didnt think it from memory aspect... I keep textures in PSP format as I use layers for altering texture, and for MAX, yeah I use JPEG smile_o.gif (without compression) for exporting them, I use TGA mostly...

By the way, I would like to know why people dont add gunner to two-seat fighters, or prevent gunner optics to pan around? Is it immpossible to make gunner lase targets and release some LGB on them? or anybody didnt give it a try yet??? smile_o.gif

Also, check with CBFASI, who seems to be the naval guru for Operation Flashpoint, for help with your Grisha and any other naval vessels. He can help you bring them in-game.
