shadow 6 Posted December 17, 2003 I found this cool site http://www.web-discovery.net/ Turns out it is a free simulator. v1.1a is available for download, but v2.0 is allmost done. At the moment only the F-22 Raptor is included, but alot of other aircrafts are planned for future versions, like: the AH-64D (Oh mama!), F-15, F-117, B-2, Su-34 etc. The guy who makes this game say he's hoping to release 2.0 before xmas. I think I'll have to download 1.1a now.

Tex -USMC- 0 Posted December 18, 2003 very cool little testbed- even at this stage showing real potential. And you can't argue with free.
hellfish6 7 Posted December 18, 2003 I didn't mean to stray offtopic but it wasn't worth starting another topic for. That flight sim looks good but I'm gonna wait for 2.0, though. No sense in downloading it now and then have to redownload it in a week or two.
Consigliere 0 Posted December 18, 2003 Cool so 2.0 will also be free?
shadow 6 Posted December 18, 2003 Cleaned out the too O-T posts to give this thread a second chance. Yes, v2.0 will be free. The guy who makes this sim is doin it in his spare-time , like the legend Richard "Hawley" Flexman is doing with Combat-Helo I tried the flightmodel and it feels nice for a test-version. I find the graphics to be nice and tidy, even though its only hills and trees. I don't know how high the detail-level I was running but it was still smooth after 5-6 presses of "A" (increase detail. "Q" is decrease detail). I'm looking forward to v2.0 but my birthday will be when he has made the AH-64D.
aj_addons 0 Posted December 18, 2003 hmm looks interesting i looked at both the sites and its very good to see that the bedroom programing scene is still very much alive saying that me and a couple of friends at uni have just started teaching ourselfs DirectX and fancy making a flight sim. Weve still got along way to go as the best weve came up with has been 3d space invaders not bad for two mounths learning

@cero 0 Posted December 18, 2003 I'm gonna have to explore around to find more stuff like this. They look great, and profesional. I'm sure some of the addon makers around here that use 3D tools could donate some models for this games... BTW, something for you to do while downloading something or wayting for you fav server to start a game. Shooting gallery.

Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted February 6, 2004 Who has the time to work on something like that without earning a penny??? Do I have the wrong job??? I download 2.0 and that is all I need?
der bastler 0 Posted February 7, 2004 Who has the time to work on something like that without earning a penny??? Do I have the wrong job??? Some people write such programs/games for fun or to prove they are best. Just visit sourceforge.net... But a game for W2k/WixP only? It's a pity...
