Tovarish 0 Posted November 13, 2005 couple of shots i took with my little makeshift tripod: Limestone carving I did waaay back in grade 9: Little taste of the organized mess in my room: Both taken at 80 ISO, for the second one I propped the tripod sideways against my computer monitor. GoOB 0 Posted November 13, 2005 BTW, Tovarish. I really like the first and fourth pictures of your first post from Rememberance day. Really good
Tovarish 0 Posted November 13, 2005 Thanks GoOB. I must have snapped at least 40 shots and the ones I posted were the only ones that were "acceptable". The sun was low and the lighting was pretty harsh. Look one way - too much sun, look the other, not enough. I really liked this one of yours Quote[/b] ]http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/1448/varmland35by.jpg That reflection on the waves contrasted with the darkness....cool *edit* And Ralph....how long does it take them to put down all those crosses so precisely...they do that every Sunday? That's dedication!

earl 0 Posted November 13, 2005 Tovarish - you desk is classic, but I really liked this: http://img474.imageshack.us/img474/7425/nov1125jo.jpg Gagamel, the road is my favourite. GoOB, 3 of 4 pics have really burned out highlights (skies & lake surface). Â Is this on the original photo or done in an image editor? Â I like the pics, but I would try to avoid burnouts like the plague. Here's a few experiments, reflections from a granite surface + much post processing. Â Upside down is actually 'right side up' and I couldn't decide which I liked better. When it's upside down it's easier to forget the objects and just look at the shapes. earl 0 Posted November 13, 2005 This is just plain cool. Check out the video. Variable DOF, taken during one exposure and stored for adjusting later. Â Lightfield Camera
GoOB 0 Posted November 13, 2005 Is this on the original photo or done in an image editor? It's from the original photos. Although the second one has a slightly higher contrast than the original. Thanks for the comments BTW Your last two are really cool earl, I love the greyish tone. Thunderbird84: The shot of your town is awesome! I want snow too! ralphwiggum 6 Posted November 14, 2005 *edit* And Ralph....how long does it take them to put down all those crosses so precisely...they do that every Sunday? That's dedication! I have no idea. But there were about 20 or so from the organization there that day. And in the evenings they place candles too. edit: done by a professional, not mine. http://images.ibsys.com/2005/1112/5311380_320X240.jpg

Postduifje 0 Posted November 15, 2005 Hi guys, excellent shots, really great to watch. I have one myself I thought was kinda worthy of this thread. It's a cliché shot, I know, but I like it nonetheless, and it holds great memories. Taken on the boat trip from Dover to Calais:
