iNeo 0 Posted August 1, 2003 I've never had a combat flight sim, but I used to play some FS98 and later 2002, and now I've started playing some 2002 again to get the flying feeling up for Lo-Mac. I'll buy a joystick for Lo-Mac when it's out... What would be a good flight sim to practise with pre-Lomac? Falcon 4.0? Flanker 2.5? Is joystick necessary for these sims/games? TIA
Dark Knight 0 Posted August 1, 2003 well aparently theyve got it pretty sorted if u are in a A-10 full up with bombs if is hard as hell to refule but if u have no bombs attached its alot simpler... this sounds interesting..id like to try this out myslef! Tovarish 0 Posted August 1, 2003 one thing thats gonna be fun is air refuling I have a confession to make: I've never had much trouble landing on a carrier in any sim I can do instrument landing in near zero visibility I have managed to successfully crash land an I-153 at a base when my only working controls were ailerons and throttle (Forgotten Battles) I can land an Su-27 with damaged fly-by wire, one engine out, and no HUD (Flanker 1.5) I once managed to fly a B-17 back to England from occupied France with only one working engine (The original B-17) But I have never ever EVER managed to "catch the basket" Â Quote[/b] ]I'll buy a joystick for Lo-Mac when it's out... TIA Since Flanker 2.5 is Lo-mac's predecessor, it should be perfect practice. And yes, you'll need a joystick *edit*Preview featuring the A-

Shashman 0 Posted August 1, 2003 I managed to refuel in Jane's F-15 Obviously after about 12 attempts (OK I must admit I couldn't resist the temptation to open up on the KC-135 with a coupla bursts of 20mms when I missed ) but I made it and after that it was relatively straightforward

bn880 5 Posted August 2, 2003 *edit*Preview featuring the A-10 Man this looks like it's gonna be really good... if it runs at all. LOL Quote[/b] ]There’s not much left to kill, so we’re up and outa there. We climb to altitude, safe our switches, and take a much-needed drink from our water bottles. It’s about a 20-minute drive home…and since we have a little extra gas, I decide to give my wingie a little practice as lead. Must have been the beans? I love that, you see it in the movies as well, "we're low on gas, better head back home and land"

edc 0 Posted August 3, 2003 FS:COF/FS9/FS2004/whatever is $54.99 at best buy(and at pretty much every place else), but the good thing w/ Best Buy is, if it's available cheaper at any store(including best buy) within the next month, you can bring it back in and they will give you the difference. FSPilot 0 Posted August 3, 2003 What do you have to bring in to prove the lower price though?
edc 0 Posted August 3, 2003 I think you just have to bring in the receipt and the ad in which the lower price is in, I'm not 100% sure though.
FSPilot 0 Posted August 3, 2003 really? Because if I'm not mistaken "FSPilot's flight sim emporium" is selling MSFS2004 for $0.01.
