Acecombat 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Your GF card apparently cant run OFP it means either its out dated OR Your settings ar way too high for your PC specs such as resolutions and refresh rates etc etc ..
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Nonono, see, I have a 9500 Pro and it was working just fine until a day or 2 ago, then it all of a sudden did that. It was working fine for like months.. Just... it.. I CAN'T PLAY OFP
theavonlady 2 Posted October 1, 2003 Search The FAQ for "videomemory" and read the matching FAQ item to the very last line.
Acecombat 0 Posted October 1, 2003 This error only occurs on 2 occasions. 1. Its a fluke/chance/godgiven/window crappiness , in other words cant explain why , occurs randomly! 2. Your Resolution + Refresh rates + memory dont sync together perfectly with your PC/game specs.

Kuja- 0 Posted October 1, 2003 This error only occurs on 2 occasions.1. Its a fluke/chance/godgiven/window crappiness , in other words cant explain why   , occurs randomly! 2. Your Resolution + Refresh rates + memory dont sync together perfectly with your PC/game specs. It's not that simple. I have a 9800Pro and I was cursed with the damned bug because of a windows hotfix. I can't say which one it was, because I installed between 20-30 at once, but it was definitely a windows update that caused the problem, and the only way to solve it was to format and avoid any updates at all. That said, have you, by any chance, visited windowsupdate recently Mr Burns?
mr burns 133 Posted October 1, 2003 i started ofo w/o my bas modfolder (101mb), 1,2 gb addons in modfolders and res remaining, and it starts again *happyis* But i get no idea why used addons cause a problem with vid-ram
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 So is there any way to fix it without deleting any addons? Any way at all?
Acecombat 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Hmm then this sounds similiar to the cannot memory map res/O.pbo problem except this time it couldnt even create a 3d device I also suffered from a problem when i had 1.91 my OFP didnt had any sounds in it if i had more then 1.46 GB of addon , now 1.92 has helped with mod folders and 1.91 doesnt even fixes the problem with mod folders either. theavonlady 2 Posted October 1, 2003 So is there any way to fix it without deleting any addons?Any way at all? Are you using mod folders to divide up your addons? (Search The FAQ for "mod folders" if you're not familar with what they are).
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Should I? They are all crammed in the res/addons and ofp/addons folders.
Acecombat 0 Posted October 1, 2003 No other way you'll be even lucky if MOD folders solve your problem and use the 1.92 patch too
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 This doesn't mean I have to reinstall ofp does it?! All those addons... All the time....... All the time backing up files.... NOOO!! DAMN YOU OFP! DAAAMMN YOU!
Acecombat 0 Posted October 1, 2003 No who said that ? All you have to do is take some addons normally ones with relations to each other like (all the BAS addons) and group them in a mod folder named BAS with a directory structure sucha s this OFP/BAS/addons/all the pbos in here. No need for drastic actions or uninstalling anything
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Hopefully it works. I've almost had it with this game.
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 When I click the shortcut I get: No Entry 'config.bin/cfgingameUI.MPtable'. ARGH
theavonlady 2 Posted October 1, 2003 When I click the shortcut I get:No Entry 'config.bin/cfgingameUI.MPtable'. What did you do? What files did you move/touch? This takes a special talent.
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 My ofp is ****ed. I just moved BAS addons to a new folder and added a shortcut.. What happens, is it does that error, then waits like 30 seconds then runs teh game then the 3d error.
MrZig 0 Posted October 1, 2003 I may have fixed the error. I put a space from -mod=BAS; -mod=DKMM Now its -mod=BAS;-mod=DKMM No error at start, but it waits a long time, then the 3d error.
theavonlady 2 Posted October 1, 2003 Do you still have any unofficial addons in your OFP\Addons or OFP\RES\Addons folders when you run OFP via that shortcut?
killswitch 19 Posted October 1, 2003 I may have fixed the error.I put a space from -mod=BAS; -mod=DKMM Now its         -mod=BAS;-mod=DKMM No error at start, but it waits a long time, then the 3d error. The correct way to list mod folders with the -mod parameter is <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> -mod=BAS;DKMM so use that instead. If it still crashes, so be it. At least you are using the -mod parameter the right way.
