Skaircro 0 Posted August 10, 2003 You mean the C-7 Caribou. I would like to make a C-7, but I'm not sure yet if I will. There's a lot of things I want to have a go at, I'm just not sure yet which one I should actually make. One things for sure.. it will be another plane. Shashman 0 Posted August 10, 2003 A Caribou would be excellent. It was widely used in Nam and in South America on SF missions (in US service) ,etc...
Sxep 0 Posted August 10, 2003 Hmmm...Maybe a B-1 Lancer? Its really a fantastic plane, and you allready have most of the scripts for that one.
Shashman 0 Posted August 10, 2003 One was already made and it wasn't good.Anyhoo, B-1B is a strategic bomber, perhaps not too suited to OFPs tactical setting
Sxep 0 Posted August 10, 2003 Ok then what about the Mig-27 Flogger? It would fit the Attack plane roll in opf better. And again you could use the scripts you allready have. And of course it would be a very good counterpart for the F111!
Shashman 0 Posted August 10, 2003 Yeah I'm for this one but as for it being a counterpart for the F-111   Well they both perform different roles. But it's definately a great aircraft for OFP  Oh and I think RHS are working on one, as long as mod crew members' sigs are anything to go by  The aircraft that immediately springs to mind as an Aardvark counterpart, would be the SU-24 Fencer
Sxep 0 Posted August 10, 2003 True LoL when thats no product of spionage...
Sxep 0 Posted August 10, 2003 But i think the SU-32+ is a more modern counterpart I know Hudson is working on it ..but what about a bit competition?
Sxep 0 Posted August 10, 2003 Did you ever think of the mig-37 ferret E ? Mig 37 its only a model sorry
Shashman 0 Posted August 11, 2003 Hmmm...I must admit I've never even heard of that aircraft Are you sure it exists? It reminds me of the Northrop YF-23 Black Widow(Which was the competition of the F-22).
Sxep 0 Posted August 11, 2003 lol i first saw it in a "buck&danny" comic when i was 9, so i think it could exsist (btw i´m 20 now)
Skaircro 0 Posted August 11, 2003 The Su-24 Fencer is one of the planes I'd like to try (after seeing the pic Miles Teg posted back in the thread for the first f-111 beta). But that would be another rather big project, I'm thinking I'd rather do something a bit smaller and easier next.
Footmunch 0 Posted August 11, 2003 If you're looking for suggestions: MiG-19 MiG-15 and/or F-86 Sabre - no proxies, guns only. SU-39 (modern Su-25) Tu-22 Il-28 An-7x Coaler (or other East transport) You could take my MiG-27 and bring that up to spec with a MiG-23 version as well (or start from scratch) If Col Klink is 'retiring', do we know what's happening to the A6/A7 that he took on from DracoFire (was it?) ? I thought the MiG-37 was a technology demonstrator, like the Sukhoi with the forward-swept wings (is it Su-47?)

Ahhhh.... a Su-24 Fencer would be so awesome. Â I've always loved that plane because it's basically like a F-111 (terrain following radar, low level pentration capability, large load of precision guided weapons) but ALOT tougher and more rugged as it's designed for taking off from unpaved runways. Â But like you said, that's a tough aircraft to model and would take a lot of work. Â But I hope someone eventually does it. Â But also I like Footmunch's suggestions for aircraft to work on. Â There is also the more obscure Su-7 and the swing-wing Su-22 aircraft that many countries still use. These two aircraft look very similar except that the Su-22 has variable wing geometry (swing-wings) and a few other little differences. Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted August 11, 2003 A Harbin H-5/IL-28 would definitely be a worthwhile project, essentially a Canberra for the east, has a three man crew but one of them could be made redundant. Other interesting east aircraft would be Nanchang CJ-5 piston trainer and light attack aircraft. THe Nanchang Q-5 which is a CAS/ground attack fighter developed from the Mig-19, The Shenyang J-8 which is a Chinese interceptor and the Xian JH-7 which is a Chinese equivalent to the Tornado although it is used solely in the maritime strike role at present. Shashman 0 Posted August 11, 2003 Su-22http://www.aeronautics.ru/archive/vvs/planes/su22-01.jpg Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD> The SU-22 is the export version of the SU-17 I'd really like it if someone was to make one of these. It'd be a perfect aircraft for OFP for East
ozanzac 0 Posted August 12, 2003 Skairkro, I think I speak on behalf of all true blue aussies. Keep with the Aussie stuff. There simply just isn't enough of it out there. And besides, any addon you make could be reskinned for some other Nato country anyway. I don't think Australia has designed it's military plane since the 'Boomerang' in WW II! Have you thought about a BaE Hawk? I know Kegytys has already made one, but it was one of the first (ever!) addons for Flashpoint, and had an un-feasible loadout. ( Sidewinders and a cannon) A Caribou would be nice, seeing as they'll still be in service for a while to come. (Bloody budget Blowouts) Then theres a Macchi trainer, or Pilatus PC-9 Even a Mirage III or Orion (To a lesser extent) Then there's the Navy Helo's, but thats not really my style! What do ya reckon? miles teg 1 Posted August 12, 2003 Wonder- yeah thats the aircraft although I believe the Su-22 has swing-wings if I'm not mistaken. I can't tell if th addon has that, but if so it would be very cool. The Su-7 seems to be very similar in appearance but I think has fixed wings... so maybe that pic is of a Su-7? At any rate, it looks beautiful. But I've never heard of the guy who is making it and if it's for some mod, then I doubt it will ever see the light of day. I was actually thinking of modify Footmunch's Mig-21 into a Su-7 by making the scale bigger on all the LOD's, changing the shape and size of the front section just a hair, making the top part of the aircraft body slope downwards towards the tail, adding one extra bit to the tail, and then changing the shape of the wings. I imagine that the wings would be the most difficult part to modify. But I guess I'll wait a while and see if that beautiful looking model in your pics is ever released. Hopefully it won't be binarized so that it'll be easier to retexture and modify for different countries. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

The Frenchman 0 Posted August 12, 2003 I remember at Pensacola Naval Air Station (Florida) during a Blue Angels airshow, one of the Blue Angels F-18's split from the main group and snuck around back at low altitude then came swooping over the audience with full afterburner. Â That scared the hell out of everyone! Â He was so low you could almost feel the heat from the afterburner. Â Loud as hell also!I'm sure more then a few crapped themselves. Â I saw somthing like that a few years ago only it wasnt in Florida. It was in Niagara Falls where I saw it. The plane was problbly only 200 meters above. ozanzac 0 Posted August 13, 2003 Quote[/b] ]Ooooh no, there were addons coming out of our ears long before Kegetys' hawk I kinda meant as in all new models, not reskined BIS units. Mayby some weopons, but not huge differences to the original stuff. Believe me, I remember those days pretty well. . And for some kinda strange reason, reskinning the Original BIS units with some extras attached is experiencing a resurge again lately...., but I don't mind much.
