Why are muslims wrong? Becuase killing people is wrong if you do it just becuase they do not believe in your religion, or becuase you are so worried about going to hell you go kill somebody who is not a muslim. Christians dont go around killing people becuase they dont believe in God, well the shouldnt.

If you think Al Queda is terrorizing the U.S. because they are christians youre very wrong.

Religion hasn't much to do with that, more like the U.S. (military) presence in the middle east, the support for Israel etc.

So your definition of "muslims being wrong" is null and void.

Quote[/b] ]Lets see their is the payments to the suicide bombers, and the terrorist training camps found in Iraq......

Noone becomes a suicide bomber for money! And where the hell did they find terrorist training camps in Iraq?? Look into your own backyard and you will find more training camps for terrorists inside the US than you will ever find in Iraq.

Quote[/b] ]Uh that would not be ties to terriost? I think most of the famalies support their kids in blowing themselves up. If anybody considers those people martyrs they are sick twisted individuals.

If that are ties to terrorists most of the "western world" is guilty, too. I don't see no cruise missiles incomeing on them, tho.

Quote[/b] ]America may have gone to pot, but I still find it hard to believe we would do this on purpose. I may be living in awicked nation, sadly still the best, but doing this on purpose, I think not.

Closing your eyes won't change the facts. Accident... of course. Saddams crimes were accidents, too you know... rock.gif

Btw is the US paying for the agent orange victims?

Quote[/b] ]You know, you are either good or evil, there is no middle.

Define good. Define evil.

Everyone thinks he is the good guy. Or do you think Hitler thought of himself as a bad guy?

There is no black and white ffs.

Well, just so you Euros know, I've been watching news all day, and it is pure damage control across the board from the White House. National Security Advisor Rice was on, and her reasoning went a little like this.

1) It was a mistake.

2) It wasn't all that big a deal, Saddam was still a bad guy.

3) The President wasn't responsible- hell, he didn't even know what was up.

4) Tenet is still our buddy, we have confidence in him.

I think the major insight here is that I actually heard the NSA admit that the administration made a mistake. Administrations never admit to making a mistake... unless the alternative is even worse. So when one of the more intelligent people in the government comes on TV and basically says "Hey, we fucked up! But you can still trust us" that sets off a whole lot of alarm bells in my head. Like I said, pure damage control, especially in the effort to compartmentalize the scandal so that the President's reelection bid doesn't get hurt.

A very interesting article by Time Magazine on the uranium row that gives a bit of an alternative picture of the blame assignement.

It would seem (at least according to Time ) that CIA did indeed object on several occasion against the usage of the uranium claim in the state of the union speech.

Tex: I would say that they are making a fairly good job in their damage control. While everybody is still talking about the uranium the thought of putting it into context with other "evidence" presented has apparently not crossed the media's mind. Or perhaps they are just waiting so that they see how strong the administration is and go for its throat if it is weak enough. rock.gif

Well Bush knew that the nigeria deal was non existant in october last year. The CIA told him. He must have a very weak brain if he uses the same thing 3 months later in the speech to the US citizens again. Sorry mates this was intentionally to get support for the war. CIA already said that a lot of pressure came from the White House itself. Pressure related to false facts that were implemented into Bush´s speeches. The pressure came from the White House, not from the CIA. Condoleza should know that and the president should very well know that.

It was a betrayal, not a mistake.

I don't hold miss Rice in very high regard. I watched an interview with her the other week where she said that Saddam Hussein's regime was probably the most brutal regime of the 20th century.

What an incredible insult to the victims of the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot etc etc etc

Talk about no sense of proportion!

She's toeing the administration line, just like Powell. However, for whatever reason, she chooses to keep a straight face and plow right through.

Maybe they should put it to a vote? rock.gif

Yeah, Blix is unbiased. rock.gif

Yes. You know being unbiased doesn't necessarily mean being 100% supportive of Bush. Or are you trying to say that Blix is pro-Saddam?

Quote[/b] ]I've got a few accusations for Blix too.

Like what?

Well, he's not anti-Saddam. And I seem to remember him saying some nastilly-unprofessional things about Bush.

Quote[/b] ]Like what?

Not verbally reporting those drones to the UN in an obvious attempt to sway public opinion against an invasion. Plus what he's said about Bush.

Actually, that tanker was renamed. biggrin_o.gif

What drones, FS? Dig us out the report on them, because if I am not mistaken, they HAD been declared previously, and had been examined.

We don't even vote over changing holidays in the US. It's not an important enough issue to vote over as you can celebrate whenever you want.

Iraq had some drones that had been declared in one of Saddams "maybe this will hold them" tactics. Blix inspected them, found that they violated the sanctions, reported them in text, but didn't report them in his speech before the UN which is what the civilians of the world were watching.
