blackdog~ 0 Posted May 27, 2003 Blah. Math never was and still isn't my best subject. I hate math... >:( Of course, a paste eater (:p) was able to outsmart me on this one... :) Quote[/b] ](2.25 years)*(365days/yr) = days since you played OFP since you play 3.5hrs/day multiply above by 3.5/24 than you get time you wasted on OFP. 119.76 days
ralphwiggum 6 Posted May 27, 2003 man, American mathematics education is going down and this is the example. Â (2.25 years)*(365days/yr) = days since you played OFP since you play 3.5hrs/day multiply above by 3.5/24 than you get time you wasted on OFP. 119.76 days edit: made a mistake in units. dm 9 Posted May 27, 2003 Here's another fun thing:(hours you spent playing OFP)*(minimum wage or how much you can make) ouch! Â well... at about 300 days (yes i've spent nearly a year of my life on this game) thats (300*24)*Å4.50 eeeppp thats Å32,400!!!!! Â Â Â Â If only I was getting paid to work at BAS... bn880 5 Posted May 27, 2003 I can not follow your equation because I don't consider my time wasted. It is good entertainment or an interesting project for me. But, I have wasted time in OFP due to engine limitations/quirks you can find here and there. I'd say 100h wasted. It's not so bad considering the other hours of fun/thinking/creativity etc... but those 100h are sooo frustrating.
reedkiller 0 Posted May 27, 2003 how about working how mich time you have wasted doing pointless calculations and then add on the time it took you to work that out, and then add out then time it took to work that out, then add on............ It is quite a large number.
Stag 0 Posted May 27, 2003 How much time have I wasted? None whatsoever.

Games are the best learning aids Oh, and Reedkiller... when you do Maths at college, a few calcs like this are a welcome break... I mean wtf does all the Tan, Cos and Sin crap do anyway

Skul 0 Posted May 29, 2003 I heard the sin, cos and tan are for those brain-boxes who can use them to place a unit precisely (how they do that is beyond me...) [Gareth Gates must die]
bonko the sane 2 Posted May 30, 2003 hehe thanks to ofp i lost my social life  Ermm...i've spent an obscene amount of time playing OFP in single player mode and when i thought it couldnt get worse (i'd finished all campaigns) ,i got adsl and started playing MP Lost 1 job, lost 1 girlfriend, gained a 3 day beard, got a OFP compatible job and finally got 1 girlfriend who does like OFP
Harnu 0 Posted May 30, 2003 man, American mathematics education is going down and this is the example. Â American Mathamatics (In general life) is an 'ish' or as some of you would say 'esque' science. 2.77*8=22'ish Only when it matters are we exact. And we can be even more precise when your damn metric system isn't in our way

Stag 0 Posted May 30, 2003 Oh, and Reedkiller... when you do Maths at college, a few calcs like this are a welcome break... I mean wtf does all the Tan, Cos and Sin crap do anyway     When used in conjunction with a spreadsheet, gives you a list of numbers which enable you to lay roads or walls in a perfectly spaced line in wrpedit. dm 9 Posted May 30, 2003 hehe... well in my life, sin cos and tan allways manage to cancel each other out (doing Maths at college) to allow me to calculate something i allready know... crazy isnt it... Oh, and I have heard that in the world of artillery, it can be useful for calculating the range and trajectory of shells... but oh well.. back to boring old "hence solve the equation blah... blah... blah...." gah... there's no crying smiley... so :'o( will have to do...
