After a long wait and a lot of hard work, its finally here. This addon is for OFP Version 1.91.

Features:

- Jungle camo version

- Retractable gear

- AN/ALE-39 Chaff and Flare

- AN/AAR-47 Audio Warning System

- Openable back ramp

- Openable Cockpit Windows

- Rotor Downwash

- Some nifty BAS special effects scripts

- Holds 37 passengers + Crew

- A mean look. smile_o.gif

You'll find other feature notes in the readme too.

This chopper aint perfect, but I tried my best and I've been working hard on it for a long time.

So you guys would just have to wait until a better one is released by somebody else.

Download CH-53 Here.

A demo mission will be made by pang in a few days time.

There is just two points to remember:

READ THE README FILE!

IF YOU HAVE A BUG REPORT, MAIL TO ME.

Also, if you need to talk, you can find me on IRC on quakenet.

I LOVE how it crashes if you kill the pilot with a kord it spins around then drops, and sometimes it doesn't blow up biggrin_o.gif

You said you needed a break. When I play ofp to much my head gets really messed up. Then when I dream at night I dream that I'm doing a complicated script or something like that.

The low altitude messages are very annoying, and the jungle version turns in to the normal one at a distance, the camera in 3rd person is too close, and the main rotor seems off center as its wobbles, the rear rotor seems to have bits missing as theres a big gape between the structure and the rotor blurr

Good stuff though m8

Wow! It certainly looks fantastic, and I'm sure that it will look great with Suchey's marines once they come out.

However, the thing seems to be too hard to control for my tastes. It's impossible to do any kind of precision landings and manuevers with it, and worst of all it has a fatal tendency to make sudden turns without any such input from the pilot (note: this only happens in the free-look and command modes). It flies well with an AI pilot, though.

Looks great though! And all the scripts and such are good too!

ok my 2 major gripes

1. You cannnot go through the back ramp to get in the chopper.

2. The part below the rotor (the wing type things) flashes constantly when the rotor is moving and looks really annoying.

Also the control needs work but that has already been stated and also how the jungle version goes to the gray one from like 20 feet away.

Besides though , an awesome addon.

I stated this before... you cant walk through the chopper due to the roadway LOD being deleted... because it caused a lot of problems.

Also about the rotor thingy, there's no way I can fix that... OFP "bug".

About the handling... If anybody has a speciality in fixing this, please contact me.

Your best bet is to use the mouse only... if you use the keyboard you're screwed. smile_o.gif

Thanks for the feedback guys.

indeed, when you look thru a workin rotor the hull textures dissapear in short flashes.

yeah but i would think the roadway would have nothing to do with that, because cant you walk inside the BIS chinook while its on the ground. It would be alot better if u could walk around inside when its grounded.
