You need to post your complete system specs, version of Opf, error message if any that gets show, etc. etc. Otherwise nobody can help you.

How many MB of addons do you have in your Addons subdirectory?

Are your system components (motherboard, BIOS, video, sound, etc.) updated with the latest patches and drivers from the manufacturers?

What Detonator drivers are you using for your GeForce card?

How long after starting Opf does your computer reboot? Is anything overclocked? What wattage is your power supply?

Make sure you have not running any other programs like msn, icq, teamspeak and others.

Download via4in1 drivers it can help.

Make a scandisk it can help if not 2.15Gb on addons try to remove some of them 500MB and make it 1.7GB and see if that helps wink.gif

>BLING BLING< There we have it, I believe. You have too many addons for the amount of system memory you have (512 MB).

I can recreate your problem on my machine by also having too many addons activated at the same time.

Try organizing your addons into "mod folders". Go to The FAQ, search for "mod folder" and you should see it.

Make up your own folder naming convention and sort your addons into those folders. Then edit the shortcut to Flashpoint to only include some of them and see if it helps.

Means nothing in these days of drivers being updated all the time. Specify the version number, please.

But I suspect a low memory problem, though...

Hi

In response to this I also have the same problem with random crashing in MP games. I have only about 700Mb addons, but very few and probably none that I know of are used when playing the Battlefield maps online which is the only map I play. How do the addons use memory when not in use?

Specs are;

ATI Radeon 7500

512DDR RAM

80G HDD (only 30G in use)

**All with updated and the latest drivers**

The only thing I have'nt updated is the motherboard drivers, which I'll do right now infact. But if there is any other explaination about the random crashes im desperate to know.

Quote[/b] ]No error-messages when my computer crashes (my pc just restart himself)

I assume you are using Windows XP. The automatic reboot after a system crash can be disabled, so you get a so called Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) with some information on the crash.

Open System Properties via Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System

Select the Advanced tab and then click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section

In System Failure section, clear the checkbox next to Automatically Restart

Click OK and OK to exit

It won't solve your problem, but at least the BSOD may provide you with some info on the cause of your crash...

Ok,

This thread is continueing on from my last...

I've deleted all of my addons, and updated absolutely everything possible that can be updated, yet it still crashes.

Then it dawned on me wow_o.gif What about CPU temperature?

Well, no, I ran a few diagnostic programs and CPU, RAM, MOTHERBOARD, and any running programs where running fine with no problems.

Which brings me back to the question? Why is it crashing?

I've no idea whatsoever.

I noticed in another post 'Suma' said that alot of crashes and freezes came from hacked .exe's of the game. Which is understandable, but mines is all legit, I should still even have the receipt.

So, if anyone think of anything else, gimmie a shout please smile_o.gif

Well, never say never. If there's something wrong with your hardware, you might still get a spontaneous reboot. But if faulty software (e.g. some driver) is the cause, you should get the infamous BSOD...

Did you try to turn off the automatic reboot so far?
