Guest BratZ Posted April 29, 2003 Hey I recently had a Logitech cordless mouse and during O2 mostly I would lose my mouse on ocassion, I still could use the keys. I kept blaming O2 but come to find out the mouse was on its way out.I lost my mouse and it never came back and trying the dead mouse on other computers resulted in same. I bought a new corded mouse and no more battery switching between games and no more losing my mouse. Just a little story saying that mice do die,not saying that is your problem. But they can act up before death too.Went on for like 3 weeks for me. The cordless mouse was prolly slightly over a year old and I will never buy another

Mister Frag 0 Posted April 29, 2003 If it is a non-optical mouse with a ball, have you tried taking the cover off to see if the motion sensors are gummed up with food or any other crap?
SFG 1 Posted April 29, 2003 Nope, it has no ball. It has a lazer, heres a picture of it.

toadlife 3 Posted April 30, 2003 It's a Microsoft product and you are wondering why it's crapping out on you? Go grab a Logitech optical mouse. Thats what I use. Never seen one break yet!
SFG 1 Posted April 30, 2003 We'll it was working fine a day ago , I think it must have something to do with a conflicting driver.

Even a cable going bad could have this effect. A conductor that is degrading can have strange effects in a digital system like that.

Greg 0 Posted April 30, 2003 o Check your mouse cable. Wiggle it a bit and see if you can reproduce the problem immediately. o Try another mouse, preferably as similar as possible eg. MS, or PS2/USB as necessary and see if it is just that mouse.
