IceFire 0 Posted March 9, 2003 Hi all, I have a gift cetrificate for $70 to use at circuit city. What should I buy? I mean in the terms of games, or such. toadeater 0 Posted March 9, 2003 Depends on what kinds of games you like I guess. I have read the The Thing is very short though. The last good new game I played was Medieval: Total War. It's a unique experience, but if you liked OFP you'll probably like it. Neverwinter Nights and Morrowind are pretty good if you're in the mood for old-school RPGs. Il-2 Shturmovik is the best flight sim out. Maybe Splinter Cell is worth a look if you like those sneaking-around kinds of tactical FPSes. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head. IceFire 0 Posted March 9, 2003 Yeah, I really like First person TACTICAL games. I like OPF because it requires First person tactical strategy on a grand-war like scale, on a SOLDIER scale. I also like games like Raven Shield, SWAT3. Any First person view games that require cunning, and skill. Not games like Doom, or stupid games where you have a HEALTH system from 100 points on down. But they must be realistic too. Realistic damage, tactics etc. I guess I wouln't mind these RTS type games like WarCraft2. But I really don't like them when they are "SCIENCE FICTIONY" like that StarCraft game. I mean, real world war combat is ok, but aliens? Basically I like to think of games as if they WERE reality. KingBeast 0 Posted March 9, 2003 The thing is really entertaining and a fun game, unfortunately i stopped playing it a while ago. Sometimes i get that with games, othres will hold me all the way to completion but the thing hasnt. Ill probably go back and complete it at some point but from what i played (which was a fair amount) it was a lot of fun. Medieval Total War has to be among my top 3 favourite games ever, but its the kind of game that you have to like, to like. Not fantasy or science fiction or anything, but a hypothetical possibility in real life. At least from the graphics I saw on the box, it seemed that way. I don't know.
