Ixian 0 Posted February 4, 2003 Did Frandsen ever release the FAV for Resistance? I thought i heard something about it not being for REs. Maybe thats why my game crashes to desktop every time i try playing a mission editor wiht it.
blackdog~ 0 Posted February 4, 2003 It does the same thing to me Ixian.. ps. i'll run you over with it
edc 0 Posted February 4, 2003 Yes, he did make a 1.75 and up one, but (atleast in my opinion) its not as good as the 1.46 one. Â It only has and M2 for armarment(instead of an M2 and Mk19) and it doesn't carry as many(it may not carry any, I'm not sure) weapons. Â You can get it at TOW's websitehere
miles teg 1 Posted February 5, 2003 Now if only someone could make a USMC Recon/Navy SEAL "Ninja-Buggy" FAV for OFP Resistance. Â Frandsen's FAV is good, but it's a European FAV and looks strange with U.S. forces. The Marine/SEAL FAV is actually now called the DPV (Desert Patrol Vehicle) and while fast, is very vulnerable to small arms fire (hence why one during the Gulf War had a big bulls eye painted on the front as a joke). Â Â Â Here is what the real one looks like: Info at: http://www.specwarnet.net/vehicles/dpv.htm But... in doing some research on the web it looks like the Marines may have dumped that dune buggy in favor of something similar to what the SAS uses... check this out: http://www.forcerecon.org/mobilereconphotos.htm It is called the ITV....info available at: http://www.dt.navy.mil/pao/excerpts%20pages/1999/transveh10.html Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

Can't wait to see that bad boy in the game!!! It'll be great for desert search and rescue missions where you have to rescue downed pilots behind enemy lines. Its the Mercedes GD and from the size i would say its the GD290. The Wolf from BW-Mod is the smaller GD240. Â SO if someone wanted to make this they could ask BW-Mod if they could use there base model, make it a little longer, remove the roof and add the M2 and the protection bars. And then you would have the ITV

But I must admit, that the DPV dune buggy looks a lot cooler and funner. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

Maybe use BW_MOD's Wolf as a basis<span id='postcolor'> Actually, yes and no, the 'FAV' comes in several different versions, as lots of vehicles are fast, and can attack :/ First the M151 FAV was used (Jeep W/ Mg), and while waiting for whatever comes in the future the USMC are using IFAV's (Interim Fast Attack Vehicle's) which is a version of the wolf, however the Navy SEAL's and the Marine Force Recon use the Chenowth FAV(DPV), Hummers are also used along the way but both the Hummer and the Chenowth FAV can not fit in a V-22 which causes problems for the USMC. This page has more on what comes next, named the ITV(Internally Transportable Vehicle): http://globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/itv.htm http://globalsecurity.org/militar....064.jpg [edit: Image was over 100kb, also infact so is the picture of the Wolf]
