blackdog~ 0 Posted January 13, 2003 A while back (a way while back) I asked for an Mi-2 Hoplite series helicopter. Did I get one? No. Some MOD named LWP was making one, but did I ever get it? No. So fulfill my wishes and make me one of... these! More info on this heli can be found at FAS Pretty please P.S. Not that I'm picky or anything (I'm not!!... You know, this is why I gripe about total conversion mods months of hype,mouth-watering screens and much dialogue, always prefaced by "we won't release anything until the whole mod is done" then the mod goes belly up and all that work just vanishes. Oh and note for the BW mod, most people DO NOT LIKE having your mod install itself however it chooses, I for one have seperate folders for different eras (modern,WWII) and finding your stuff in the WWII folder and everywhere else is mildly annoying, so do CHANGE the way the installer works, The rest of your mod is awesome, just don't like the installer. Major Fubar 0 Posted January 13, 2003 I totally agree with you on both points - 1.) Total conversion mods who don't release anything until the mod is ready - bad idea. Firstly people lose interest. Secondly, mods fall apart, personal differences, too much work etc. Release addons as teasers, people appreciate it! 2.) Installers - every single OFP player I have spoken to prefer a ZIP or even RAR to self installers. Self installers often screw up which directory they extract into, leave rubbish in your add/remove programs applet etc. Please, just a simple ZIP will do the same job. Przezdzieblo 0 Posted January 13, 2003 LWP Mod had some problems about two months ago, now it is reactivated with the new leader Airwolf, Mi2 modeler, said he would release his "baby" in unarmed version before Mod will be done. So now I think you should stay patient in queue, addon would be published when ready. I just had the idea to make an own one sum while ago! However at the moment i'm too involved in other things, so i guess it's pretty difficult to do even the model of Mi2. Well, if more people would like to see that helicopter, i could probably spin my thoughts, and start to work on it, simultaneously to other stuff. And I can see you guys have nothing but some strange informations - even you Przezdzieblo (who told you, I'am the of this MOD? Korzon is the leader). MOD isn't dead at all but the future isn't also very clear, so we didn't changed the info on the site yet. Mi-2's model (T and Ch versions) is ~90% ready. Textures are maybe ~70%. But I can't do anything about it without proper materials (we're still looking for it without results). And I will not release the chopper until it's not 100% complete and as realistic as I want. As you can read on the site - I'll release the model (probably in different versions than the model for LWP MOD) to public before the MOD will be finished. If you still want to go with the Denmark campaign maybe the BW Mod will let you use their Leopard 1A5s. And I think someone out there also made a Centurion tank too. I can research the Danish Army if you want. Maybe we could get a Soviet or Resistance (FIA) version of the Mi-2? Didn't they also make a gunship version with rocket pods? KDF 0 Posted January 14, 2003 Alot of Russian aircraft (and even spacecraft) have that colour inside..supposedly the result of research on colours that didn't drive you nuts after sitting there for hours looking at it..although I think its just become a traditional russian tech colour by now..like how most computer/computer components are in beige cases/plastic - that was originally the result of some US Army study in the days of mini computers IIRC Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
