Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted January 4, 2003 You know, if your island is called Greece, you could make the effort to make it look Greek while you're at it Do you want pics
der bastler 0 Posted January 4, 2003 Actually I've never visited Greece (no vacation since 1997)! I looked for some pictures on the internet and decided to use the Malden set of textures and objects...

der bastler 0 Posted January 4, 2003 Thanks, I'll see how I can implement this... ...hm, some of the Nogovo-buildings seem to fit, but that would blow the island's pbo... ...well, at least it's not my traffic!
der bastler 0 Posted February 13, 2003 Well, I've continued and tried to follow Ex-RoNiNs advice. Now here's the result: Â Â Â Â Â Â Status: island 1/3 finished, track 1/2 finished More pics and a progress map will be available soon on my page And no, implementing OFP:R-buildings doesn't blow up your pbo, greece3 is smaller than 500kB... Guest jacobaby Posted February 13, 2003 Yes, they DO look good. I have been to Greece several times. The good buildings tend to all have red terracotta tiled roofs, and the others are part finished concrete types. How does the track look??? I have just done a few race maps for the Ia Drang Map and its good fun. Are you including different types of terrain or just roads? TJ

Rattler 0 Posted February 14, 2003 I've been to Corfu and took a day trip to Athens, that really isn't much of Greece, but I think that looks good. Any thoughts on making a plant that is like a bunch of wheat that way you can actually make a feild of wheat(or whatever) to crawl through.
Architeuthis 9 Posted February 14, 2003 Wow, excellent island! i've been to greece four times, and i would say its about right. Ofcourse I've onll been to Rodes, Crete and Corfu (2x), so i don't know how the rest op Greece looks like. However i did get a nice view from the plane I was in, and judging from that view I would say the general appearence of the eastern Islands is the same. Ofcourse the westcoast has a slightly different climate and thus a slightly different ecosystem. But I suppose a real Greek would say otherwise. So don't quote me on that . Allright, now i'm gonna nitpick a little , it looks great and i see you have used resistance building, but could you add the resistance trees too? They look way better, then the ones originally shipped with ofp. But it looks great the way it is and if you want to keep the pre-resistance foliage, then that is all up to you So keep up the great work, and i hope you take my request into consideration! der bastler 0 Posted February 21, 2003 Here's my first attempt to translate czech labels: restaurant What do you think? Correct Greek?
N.o.R.S.u 0 Posted February 21, 2003 No idea . This island would also be nice for some WW2 missions, unless there aren't any modern houses & objects all around .
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted February 21, 2003 Today: Good Wine LOL, is that a joke No proper Greek place would call itself "Coffee Bar" though, it is "Kafenio" (in Greek characters of course ) Great job though
der bastler 0 Posted February 21, 2003 KALO KRASSI should be some kind of advertising (come in, we've got good wine! ) and is not related to today's menu... Today: *smearedblackboard* Ok, KAFENIO instead of KAFE BAR, got that (seems that was beyond the limit of my phrase book). Perhaps SSOUVLAKI as today's menu? I'm thinking about implementing town-names and -signs. Soon I'll present you a map of the island with pics of the towns, and you can make proposals... Shashman 0 Posted February 21, 2003 Top looking island! Seeing as most Mediterranean landscapes are similar in a way this island could be used for any mediterranean scenario...Brilliant!! I'm Sicilian myself and from those images it looks damn good!
der bastler 0 Posted February 22, 2003 Here's another slightly modified building (a must-have for every proper greek town, right?): edit: screenshot obsolete
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted February 22, 2003 Never seen a building like that with a sign saying "Centre" You need to make a proper Greek church or two That is needed
