Real World Map

Recommended Posts

I have a crazy idea for a map of a real world area. I am experienced at 3D modelling, though I have no experiance with Arma III map making. I was wondering if I could receive some pointers. I might make the area a bit large, and make the map not to scale.

Ideas for the area:

Washington DC

Crimea

Kingston, Jamacia

I would say start small if this would be your first map. It can be very time consuming and aggregating getting used to using the tools.

If you find a area you like let's say the Washington location you pictured above you can start small in the lower left corner of the map like a 5km x 5km area. If you want to expand you can do that later it's easier to expand up and right when enlarging a terrain.

And use mikeros tools.  Except no substitute

How do I even begin to make maps tho? I can't find good tutorials.

Can someone guide me through the process?

The best source of anything related terrain making. Most video tutorials found on Youtube are somewhat outdated due to the 1.60 update.

Its not so much the update, its youtubers spreading wrong info. Stuff like cell size doesn't matter and use arma tools to setup the P drive

I would love to see Crimea. I can't believe no one has done it yet. Can you imagine Crimea + RHS? Hell ya!
