pabstmirror 34 Posted June 16, 2018 Yellowstone by PabstMirror Terrain based on Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming, USA) 10x10km map using real world elevation and satellite data, along with a few added fictional towns and roads. Offers a mix of forest, prairie and snow covered mountains. Download: Steam Workshop Media: Workflow: Real location [google maps] Spoiler Elevation: from USGS 1/9 arc-second. Surface Mask: used multispectral images from Sentinel-2 to do remote sensing. Satellite: mix of Sentinel-2 and other sources. Roads: The 3 MSRs are real, the rest were just added Most tree/rock objects are randomly generated. Towns and buildings were created in 3den. The entire map is 2/5ths scale (x,y and z). Mainly done because of limitations in elevation and surface mask resolution. A downside from using sat data is occasional detail in the sat that just doesn't show up at ground level. Also some problems with northern shadows on hills.
