Today I have found a server that runs your mission with mission name completely changed and authors removed everywhere and replaced as if the mission was done by somebody else. Mission weights ~2.7 MB, with a lot of script errors.

You should seriously consider to add earplugs.

 

Vehicles one purches should be locked by default.

Lock vehicle button shouldn't push other players out, as there can be player

 

Russian is fine, although I'd like to have that translation as well since it can be put in the stringtable for the next version.

You can edit the shops and objective units if you want.

 

 

Earplugs are already in the mission, although it's not advertised very well:

  • "custom user action 1" toggles earplugs
  • "custom user action 2" toggles weapon holstering

 

The locking mechanic is a bit complex:

  • If you are inside the vehicle: nobody is kicked
  • If you are outside the vehicle: other players and AI not commanded by you are kicked

So if you want a locked vehicle that is still manned, put your own AI in it.

It would be weird to lock people into your vehicle with you not inside it.

Interesting, I'll look into them.

EvorA has an (easy to get around) mechanic that prevents you from changing the mission name, so they must've removed that as well.

 

I'm not sure about how to go about stopping them though.

I have contacted somebody who knows the server owner and he apparently has already removed your mission from his server, where the original mission name was changed and all authors removed/replaced.

In my understanding, russian translation is done using google translate, therefore not accurate and not everything was translated.

So I wouldn't recommend you to include/take this translation 🙂

 

It would have been much better if you would have "moved" earplugs and weapon holstering to the action menu.

 

Also what does EvorA actually mean? Evo red Altis?

It's really not a good name for the mission, because one doesn't understand what kind of mission it is judging mainly by its name.

Very often people search using "evolution" in the launcher/in-game browser or in battlemetrics and this way the mission can't be found. This is one of the reasons why almost nobody plays the mission.

 

You could use instead a "better" naming for the mission for "better" recognizability, like Evolution CSAT vs. NATO +  removing the name of the island as it's mentioned in the browser anyways.

^^ please don't ask about updates.  That is against forum rules.  Updates will, as ever, be ready when they are ready - pestering an author won't magically make them appear faster.

Do you have plans to add support for TFAR or ACRE? At this moment it is unable to save inventory with TFAR or ACRE.

Got another update for you after all this time!

  • Added: EvorA: Altis Blue
    • Play as NATO vs. AAF
    • Infantry focused gameplay
    • Mostly close-quarters objectives in and around Kavala
    • Start on the USS Freedom in Kavala Bay
  • Added: Better TFAR & ACRE compatibility related to equipment saving
  • Added: Stringtable entries for all strings in all scripts (EN,DE)
  • Added: Functions for localizing remoteExec'd strings on client
  • Added: Objective & RT status hints to menu dialog
  • Added: Briefing about custom user actions
  • Added: Lobby parameter for disabling vehicle TI equipment
  • Added: Lobby parameter for RT marker
  • Added: Lobby parameter for reinforcement event warnings (reinforcements/base attacks/air patrols/artillery)
  • Tweaked: Number of enemies in AO (more but smaller groups)
  • Tweaked: Enemies now patrol the RT more
  • Tweaked: Vehicles spawned through FARP compositions now respawn
  • Tweaked: Enemy AI courage value baseline
  • Tweaked: Vehicles can now spawn & respawn as cargo inside other vehicles (exclusively used for boat-racks)
  • Fixed: Artillery marker had wrong marker class for opfor
  • Fixed: Vehicle engine is now turned off when editing loadouts to prevent random throttle increase

Ah. I'm a little delayed. Just wanted to ask @Sgt. Dennenboom to add some kind of a contrattac after an AO is captured. Like it was implemented in Evolution FFA Red in Arma 2. 

When the area is captured - players have a some time to prepare to contrattac. To place mines, to find a safe places, etc. After the time is gone - there comes an enemy artillery. And after that - some technic and paratroopers.

 

But any way - thank you for your hard work!

I wanted to release the CUP missions already, but I noticed CUP recently had a big update so I need to go through that first

@Sgt. Dennenboom the text from file functions/fn_initBriefing.sqf is fully absent in Stringtable.xml.

They are present and was present in a previous version. Just read the Briefing. Earplugs could be setup on a key Action 1 in a game settings. We're wasn't know that before and was added a custom script for it. And now there is two earplugs on our server :). But the custom one we're like more. Problem found on Linux server 1.92

Mission failed just at the beginning

20:50:04 "EVO/BIS_fnc_log: [BIS_fnc_endMission] Mission failed with 'end1' ending."
20:50:04 Game finished.

On Windows local server the mission starts fine

 

! SOLVED (found by varrkan_ua) !  The problem was due I've renamed the mission file on Linux server. File name must contain "evor"

if ((toLower missionName) find "evor" < 0) exitWith {"EveryoneLost" call BIS_fnc_endMissionServer;};

I found missing semicolon in dialogs\dlg_menu.hpp (line 100), but it doesnt fix the problem

Sorry for not responding to your problem sooner @Barmalei75. I would've known this was the problem immediately.

 

I added this check as a very basic (and easily circumvented) method for making sure people don't copy the mission without credit.

Oh, not problem at all,  @Sgt. Dennenboom . I just had to shortened the mission filename to use on my linux server.

Me and my community realy appreciate your works, and we always keep the original credits in respect to developers.

but enemy mortar teams are broken, bombarding mainbase a few seconds after mission start >1hour... spawn instant dead/vehicles destroyed/wounded etc
