Down range, there is a "well ventilated" old propane tank...(EMPTY of course) amoung other things biggrin.gif<span id='postcolor'>

Man... sometimes I wish Canada wasnt so uptight about automatic weapons. that looks like a hell of a lot of fun!

If I do really well at work this christmas I am going to get myself a Walther P99, I think. biggrin.gif That I can at least have, so long as I get a good gun safe and take a course first toget a piece of paper that says I know how to handle a gun smile.gif

And it's a good thing it was empty, or we'd be nominating you for a Darwin Award...

OFP Forum Goer crushed by flying propane cylinder!

what state are you living in?

for another version of story similar to yours,

me and my gf went out to a small creek to do a little shooting, sh had just got her .38 and wanted to be destructive.. so I founf this odd small can that had been rolling around in the bed of my truck for many weeks.. that really sucked, I couldent even drive home.. though my GF had a hoot with the 4wd (she had little pissy car at time).. I dont know how she managed to avoid it.. she got a little on her arm and that was it.. oh well.. there are lots of Wobble being a dumbass stories.. but they are not military related so I will spare ya. <span id='postcolor'>

a good choice. i tried .40 S&W and it was excellent smile.gif only prob(?) is that it costs $800 US or so. but made of plastic, and feels nice though. you can actually adjust grip width by replacing one of 3 rubbers that can be replaced in the back of the grip.

trigger pull is quite interesting since it uses something called variable trigger pull(?). from what i see, it's that it can be pulled in either SA or DA. funny thing(or maybe not) is that i once placed the slide back to fire position and i was able to first pull in short trigger pull, and then i could continuously see the firing pin in the back coming and releasing as i pulled the trigger in full length.

1) Florida

2) SIG P229 (40cal)

3) (*refer to screen name)....seriously though, in the group I shoot with, we take safety VERY seriously (as do all responsible shooters)... "retired" propane tanks make excellent medium/long range plinking targets But first you remove the valve...hence, no pressure inside.

Wobble was not exactly the poster child for responsibleness biggrin.gif

I was lucky when I was younger because I lived in the wilds of BC, and my dad's friend had a HUGE (several hundred hectares) back yard. And that's where we went to plink. He had targets set up at 10 yards, 25 yards, 50 yards and 100 years, plus built a shelter with benches. It was pretty cool. The most fun ever was shooting watermelons he'd gotten that were going bad. Not good for eating, but great for shooting with semi wadcutters!

My Dad and I are going to the rifle range soon to scope in our rifles for the hunting season. Probably wont take any pics though. tounge.gif

I will have a pic posted soon of me posing with that AK-47 Beta I used for airsoft a while back.

That is, if the mods don't mind me ressurecting an old thread.

Hmm, speaking of AK 47s....

Here is an older pic of me (at the same shooting range) with a full auto AK 47. (This one is a "post sample", meaning it is only legal for dealer, manufacturer, law enforcement, or military ownership)....It belongs to a Type II manufacturer who shoots with us.

Full auto AK47

While Im at it, here I am with my FN FAL shorty carbine:

And here are some random pics from some of my collection:

(I am new at this pic posting thing, and only have a small portion of my stuff on disk)

These are two of the five AK variants I own: (both of these ones are Romanian)

Romanian AK 47 with KOBRA site

Romanian SAR 1 AK47 (semi auto)

Here is that FAL:

Here is one of my AR15s (this one is a "preban" PWA Commando A2, with 16" HBAR, M4 handguards, M4 buttstock)

My wallet tries to run away from me when I look at your pics, madmedic sad.gif

Guns are way too expensive over here. I suppose I'll have to stick to pistols, though I did get a nice offer on a custom Steyr practical rifle the other day (~600$wink.gif

I suppose this also is an FAL, it's the standard weapon of the belgian army.

FNC

Madmedic, what was your opinion about this gun?  Do you like it or do you think it totally sucks?!

I'd just like to know smile.gif

So tell them you're hunting the targets next time wink.gif

The biggest piece of artillery we have would be a .50 cal muzzleloader.  It packs a punch but you'd better hit what you're aiming at, it takes a while to reload.

I love shooting our .30-06 springfield.  It's vintage world war two and I'm hoping to get a scope on it so we can hunt with it better.

...

ok, and so I can pretend to be the religious guy from saving private ryan.  biggrin.gif

Getting a gun in house is a no no here. That's quite a bummer... They are quite strict about weapons, but not on other things... sad.gif

I've only shot a 12 gauge shotgun (a remington, I believe) and a .22 rifle. I feel like such a newbie! sad.gif

Basically you can go to a gun club and shoot rifles and pistols, thats about all. You cant own a weapon that is semi or full automatic. I dont think you are allowed to own pistols anymore after the shootings in Monash University in Melbourne.

What you can own I think is a rifle that has to be reloaded after every shot, or a pump action or lever action shotgun. You may not keep the gun loaded and you must keep it locked up. I think you are only allowed to use them for either at a shooting range or hunting, but I think you may need a hunting permit.

Just out of curiosity, what about double-barreled shotguns?

Granted, they're semi-automatic, but they're limited to two shots per reload.
