Zu 23-2

Great work! But I'd suggest removing radar display from the top, since ZSU-23-2 does not have any. I also wouldn't put sandbags as default to this addon. You can easily build your own sandbags around it if you want.

Excellent addon - great job with the model, textures and sounds!

One thing I found though - I couldn't target it from the air with a chopper, either by manually locking on or by ordering my AI gunner to.

Also, the damage seems a little low compared to the Shilka, but I guess it's only firing 2 barrels, not four.

the damange model is great you get a great rush when your flying in a plane and you hear bullets penetrating the aircraft, and you wonder if you can make it on time.

Great work on this AA gun. I put 3 on each side of the main Nogova airbase and two squadrons of G8 Tornados attacking some tanks on the base at night. I must say that the light show was truly impressive! I played the part of a copilot on a Tornado carrying MK-82's. It felt like we were flying into a hornet's nest!!! However the main problem is that the pilots do not detect the ZSU-23-2's and so they are just about defenceless against your AA guns. Also some ground units (like Resistance AGS-17 gunners) have trouble firing at the ZSU's as well. Finally, there are some texture problems on some of the LOD's. But the main problem is just that attacking aircraft don't detect them. Finally please make one for the Resistance side as well if you can.

At any rate, I can't wait for this addon to be fixed up as it is truly excellent. Please keep the damage level as is. I think it's perfect.

Once the G8 Tornado's MW-1 is fixed (there was a bug on the latest release) I plan on making a MP/SP mission with it and your ZSU-23-2 mission (if you don't mind) where you must fly

low level airfield attack missions on the North Nogova airfield against heavy AA defenses. It should be alot of fun. I'll probably also put some on the roofs of the apartment buildings at the airport as well. smile.gif

Is good that more and more Russian addons are comming for the game (Sigma-6 tank pack, BTR70, etc and now ZU-23)

Please can you add some kind of turn sound for the ZU-23 so when you turn the model make some metal noise wink.gif

And I see that when you don't see with optics you can't move the guns up like when you use optics... This is normal or an engine/simulation limit?

...and this is just a beta!! WOW! good work!

Why other addons/mod maker don't release the betas... better have something to play while we wait hehe  Ex: I want BTR80 beta from Bundesheer Mod for Xmass! hehe

is it possible to make all the two guns to fire? in my version only the left turret fires. and plz. make the secondary seat reachable, as a commander or loader or something like that.

That's a game engine limitation (the one gun firing)

Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but the texture color is off. Look at the original photo at the start of this thread and compare it with the addon. The addon is green instead of the official USSR military olive drab color it is supposed to be. Other than that, this is a great addon, one of the weapons I was hoping someone would make.

Is there anything besides texture sizes that would prevent this from running in v1.46?  I get a warning each time I startup, and then the unit isn't available in the editor.

I'd like to unpack it and just change the required version number in the config so that I can play with it, even though the textures will be blurry (resampled to 256x256).

Would there be any other reasons why it won't work?  It really looks great, I want to see it light up the sky at night.

...maybe the Zu 23-2s are defending an airfield, so my American saboteurs with SR-74s (loaded with satchels, because they can collect enemy AK74 ammo) are sent in to take care of them.  wink.gif

(what happen with beta2 ? nothink, it was reliased only in Russian OFP board)

New in beta 3:

1. There are 2 types of ammunitions now.

  API-T = not explosive Bullet 1000 rounds

  HEI-T = explosive Bullet, slightly more damage, 400   rounds    (new sound and tracers)

2. I did fix "get in tank" message, now it say "get in MG"

3. Commander position working now

4. Many  fixes in config.cpp

5. light from "nowhere" in the night fixed.

6. AI more agresivly attack ZU23 now (heli gunner can look  with cannon, but not with missles)

7. Small visual changes in model.

8. New color (standart Russian green)

9. New gunner optics (thanx for Earl exelent tutorial)

i'm still need real sound

Both cannons on the Tunguska addon fire simultaneously, or am I confusing muzzle flash and tracer fire?

Yepp, i think the same... as i remember tunguska fires with both of the guns... (even if its a visual thing)

The tunguska only fires from one place but have muzzle flashes from both barrels.

Quite a nice addon, but you should remove the radar IMHO. Maybe you could get the other guy to report headings either with vehicle channel or by some kind of script.

i personally think the radar should stay it might not be really releastic however its very useful if you want to create a map or so very fast without using scripts, etc
