Deathrow Bo Dean 4 Posted November 21, 2016 Lets say that I want a vehicle driven by an Blurfor AI to drive from the main airfield on Stratis to the Old Outpost (about in the middle) of Stratis. The way I now do this is: I place Waypoint (Move) markers on the road i want the driver to follow at almost every turn (bend) and intersection along the road. It works but I end up with lots of Move Markers. My question is: ---> . Is there a better way to get the Ai controlled vehicle to follow a road without having to use lots of Waypoint Move Markers?. 1SG.Smithen.C 3 Posted November 21, 2016 The AI got improved vastly in the last patch but it still isn't top notch. The AI will take roads as much as possible and take the shortest/fastest route to your waypoint. For example. If you place a waypoint from Kavala to Pygros the AI will follow roads all the way there. But sometimes once the AI gets somewhat close it will go off road for some reason thinking its fast meanwhile its just putting the vehicle at risk and not going exactly where you want it to go. So if you were to place a single waypoint from the airfield to the old outpost the AI should follow roads almost all the way there

Deathrow Bo Dean 4 Posted November 22, 2016 Thank's for Your replies. I notice that the AI moves very quickly to it's appointed destination. How do i adjust the vehicle traveling speed on the road?
Joe98 91 Posted November 22, 2016 the speed can be set in each waypoint
Rich_R 1087 Posted November 22, 2016 To this topic. I'm working on a mission set on Tanoa and have noticed the AI driving is far worse than that seen on Altis. Anyone else dealt with this? I have the initial waypoint set to slow and safe yet they still drive v fast and need a multitude of waypoints to keep them on the main roads.
Francois_L 5 Posted November 23, 2016 I'm having trouble with this too-- esp. on maps with plenty of obstacles like Tanoa & Vietnam 'Da Krong.' If 'Vcom_Driving" does anything, I haven't learned to use it correctly. No additional options that I could find. Like OP, only thing seems to work is quite a few way-points to negotiate curves in roads. All goes well on uncluttered maps such as 'Takistan.' Combat, and vehicle AI seems to 'panic' and do silly things. Maybe some screenshots can explain better than I can. This would have to be scripted? "Get IsInFriendlyLineOfFire" Get IsPathClear" (whatever the syntax) or is it even possible? Not sure what's going on here. If he runs too fast to get in & vehicle is already moving, he gets killed? Tried "Ineptaphid's" suggestion, but in this scenario, AI driver 'floors it' for no reason. There is no enemy for another 800m. WP = "move" & behavior = "safe" Suggestions so vehicle AI doesn't do this when ambushed, or start moving before escorting infantry have chance to get back in? --- PS: Don't know 'etiquette' for images here. Deathrow Bo Dean 4 Posted November 25, 2016 Sorry to reply a bit late but i had to travel for Thanksgiving Day. I will look for the speed adjust in the Waypoints. I will also try just putting 1 MOVE Waypoint at the beginning of a road and 1 MOVE Waypoint at the vehicles destination using the speed adjust if i can find it and see how that works. 11/26/2016 :: ---> i placed a Medical Truck on a Stratis road nead the main airfield with one MOVE Waypoint about 50' on the road ahead of it. I then placed the next MOVE Waypoint.at the Radio/Microwave/Transmission Towers on the mountain top.. I'm making a mission that defends these transmission towers so I started the mission and after about 10 minuets the Medical Truck arrived. Therefore, i guess I won't need lots of Waypoint MOVE markers anymore. However, i still can't find on the Waypoint Attributes any options to adjust ant vehicle speed. Can someone please tell me where to find that option?
