Help! My guys have tree branches for arms!

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I have been playing a mission that I made in the editor. All of the sudden, my guys have tree branches for Arms! I searched this in the search function but did not find anything about it. Does anybody know whats causing this, and how to fix it?

Thanks

I have the latest and greatest Arma3 version. I am running the RHS mods.

I do not know how to capture an ingame picture. IF you tell me how to take an ingame picture, I will post it.

Ah. Here it is. From da12thmonkey:

1.64 patch). It's was an issue with one of the unit models, but affects several uniform classes since they're re-textures of that base model.

The model has been fixed internally for quite a long time now, so the fix will be in the future 0.4.2 update.

It's an issue the RHS team has fixed internally I guess. Gotta be patient for their next release.

I took the screen shot. I do not see an attachment button in this browser. How do I attach a screenshot?

Well when this was posted we were not aware this was an RHS issue-no reason to move these posts.

@dufalator-This is still happening? With absolutely no mods running? And dont load the same mission-just open the editor and pop down a unit. What happens?

I do not believe that this is an RHS problem. I disabled all of the mods but am still having the issue. As far as I know, I am reporting this issue in the Arma 3 trouble shooting forum. If not, Where the heck am I?

I would be happy to upload a screenshot. How do I upload to the media library?

you can just copy the url of the steam page where your screenshot is, or upload it to imgur and select "copy image"

This stretching of the limbs used to happen a lot in Arma 2, haven't seen it as much in 3.

Have you verified your files through steam?

I have not verified my files through steam. I do not know how to do that. Is this a general trouble shooting report?

Been awhile since I did this so I might have the exact steps wrong.

Right click on the game in your library. Click properties (I think?). Then I think you should see a tab that says local files. Then verify the integrity of the game cache.

This is all done in Steam.

Yikes. So you're not using any mods or scripts in the mission anymore?

Ok. Launch the game without mods. Since you said you removed RHS the mission should load in the editor.

Open the editor/open the mission. Highlight everything. Copy with ctrl + c

Open a fresh map. Right click and paste it to the exact position (can't remember what it's called but you'll see it).

Press play and see if the issue still exits.

Hang on-do you have ACE3 running?Look at your ammo counter in the pic you linked-the actual amount of rounds should be displayed-but they are not. Some mods-including ACE do that.

start arma3 with no mods loaded, then report back...

if problem still persists, unsubscribe from all workshop stuff, then delete all manual installed mods/missions and verify finally the game cache.

Okay-2 other things I notice from your picture...The first-you are in some kind of mission.I can see an objective marker placed.Dont load a mission-just open an empty map in the editor and spawn one unit in.Second thing-you are on Dev build.Switching back to Stable branch is the best choice if issue persists. And again...make sure no mods are running!

little advice from me...

bad idea running mods while use development branch

switch back to stable if you run any mods,

most mods are not yet up to date with development branch changes!

Ugh. This was just reported in the dev branch thread. https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/143930-general-discussion-dev-branch/page-1052#entry3103297

I'd say you can put this thread to bed.

Right... :D OP, it might have been useful to mention you were running Dev branch this whole time :) Nevermind.

Verified with OP-was being caused by Dev Branch

Closing.
