New animations....

Recommended Posts

if it is now possible to make new animations for ofp, would it not now be possilbe to make a tank class vehicle w/ wheel animations instead of tracks? then vehicles w/ rockets and wheels could be made.. maybe

any thoughts?

AFIK memory points and animations have nothing to do with each other. The rockets/wheels problem is an engine limitation and not a question of animation.

i guess what i mean is that the vehicle will look like a car but the game will think its a tank.... thats where the new animations come in, to substitute the tank tread animations that the game will want to use with wheel ones.

editing is not my thing so forgive me if i dont know what im talking about

Good point. You could define a vehicle as armored (tracked) then substitute new animations (wheels) for the tracks...could work...?

OFP really needs a cigarette smoking animation. You could pop some guards while they're smoking and it would really lessen the need of real-life cigarette breaks during long co-op missions wink.gif

I am absolutely in favor of a cigarette smoking animation! The lessons I learned from the army: You always have to smoke when you're on guard duty even when it's dark and it will reveal your position. We used to put our cigarettes inside 12.7mm NSV ricochets and smoke there but it doesn't help if the enemy has night vision equipment smile.gif It would be nice to have some blackop missions during nighttime where an enemy suddenly lights up a cigarette near you wink.gif

The only way to use tow on jeeps, i think that is by making it a mg...

No tows coming out the tow launcher... just tracers...

Has anybody tried making the car as tank? Just leave the tracks away and you have a car that has wheels which won't turn. But you can still use missiles properly which is IMO much more important...

I think the realism level for the vehical would be droped dramaticly. the "car" would turn like a tank, something not possible in common cars. which would make for very unfair advantages.

But with the new animations could be used to simulate realistic looking wheels turning. Admittedly, the car would handle like a tank, but IMHO that would be a small price to pay to have things like Hummers with TOWs and Mark-19s, BRDM with ATGMs etc.

Heck, I'd be happy if people even made these vehicles as statics! tounge.gif
