[ALiVE, COOP, SP] Fallujah Assault

You are a member of Delta Force, tasked with helping Iraqi Forces defeat the ISIS threat in Fallujah. ISIS forces control the city, but a combined force of Iraqi and US Special Forces are surrounding the city and moving in for the final blow.

As with all of my missions, this is a full map campaign, intended primarily as a COOP/MP Experience. However, you can enjoy this mission in Single player as well. It uses the full ALiVE suite of features, so if you are unfamiliar with my previous missions or ALiVE, I recommend reading www.alivemod.com/wiki for more info.

This mission includes:

Headless client support
Virtual Arsenal
Recruitment spawner
Task system associated with taking critical points in the city.
The ability to control all friendly forces through the ALiVE Commander's Tablet
Persistence through the ALiVE War Room.

Conventional or Assymetric? If Assymetric what civs are you using?

This mission description sounds fantastic and i really want to play it, but why the hell there so much RUS\USA mod dependencies :(, which sometimes duplicate themselves, while you already have RHS required.

 

SOCOM DevGru - 400 mb

NATO\RU Weapons - 820 mb (RHS)

NATO\RU Vehicles  - 1 GB

Iraq/Syria Conflict Mod - 430 mb

   which depend on CUP Weapons - 1.4 GB (from ArmA2! RHS!)

 

So i need to add additional 4 GB to my mods just to play this mission.

I use this map.

 

And, for some reason, mission name and picture are missing for me in SCENARIOS screen.

The mission will not be the scenarios section.  It will be in the Multiplayer section  (Multiplayer-->Fallujah-->Mission name).  It was set up as a primarily COOP mission, not SP.  If you want to play by yourself, just start a MP session and play it on your own.

 

The Iraq/Syria mod currently has dependencies of CUP Weapons, Nato Rus Vehicles, and RHS built into it.  If you don't like those, talk to the mod author.  

 

I don't make a lot of Vanilla missions.  Most of my missions I create for my group we use quite a few mods because we prefer to play with authentic, modern units.  You are welcome to unpbo the mission and remove any mods you don't like.

If it's not hard for you - can you post your mods list from .rpt file? Or tell me where i can find mas_usa_usoc_veh.pbo. (cuz i think maybe it's outdated .pbo from some old version of Massi mod (?))

 

 

 

 You are welcome to unpbo the mission and remove any mods you don't like.

I like all of them  :lol:, they just pretty big and similar to use them all at the same time. 

 

If you want to play by yourself, just start a MP session and play it on your own.

 

Yes, i tried but can't start local game with this map - there just no roles to select, so OK button is always grey. And again - mission pic \ info are missing. Maybe i using wrong version of Fallujah map? (or localization problems)

 

PS: Have nothing bad about your promising mission, it's just hard to install for me.

 

UPD: Your newest version from drop box now have normal text description in MP-screen, but stiil no picture and missing name (for me). And stiil no roles, so can't play. (but it give me warning about missing vehicle units)

Shoker, two quick things as I've been reading about them a lot recently. Regarding the roles in the MP lobby, something changed when BIS updated to 1.58 for some missions that have the option to run a headless client. For whatever reason, the role select screen isn't the first screen that pops up so to find it, click on the "BLUFOR" tab on the top left portion of the player select screen.

Regarding the mods he uses. This specific mission uses the Iraq/Syrian Conflict. That mod itself requires a lot of dependencies. AuTigerGrad himself requested the mod author go all in with EITHER RHS or CUP quite some time ago. Ultimately this is not AuTigerGrad's decision. But to add, for the dependencies not required by that mod, AuTigerGrad primarily makes these missions for our group and we appreciate not only his stellar mission making ability (he really is one of the best that makes his group missions public), but we also appreciate his dedication to authenticity.

I understand a large amount of mods is not suitable for all players or groups. There are plenty of other missions out there with far less requirements which may make more sense for you and your squad (if you play with one).

I'm not having that issue (though I haven't tried this specific mission yet). I was saying on the player select screen in multiplayer, look for a tab that says "BLUFOR" on the top left side of the screen and click it. The roles will then appear.

If that's not available then yes there would a problem.

Anyway my curent problem is to find mas_usa_usoc_veh.pbo. I think it's root of all my problems.

Umm how come you are running 1.56?  Steam should autoupdate to the PROPER version, or is your favourite letter 'R' ?

!!! Thnx, i forgot to add "VEHICLE OPTIONAL CONFIG" to @ussocom_mas, now LAN-Screen work like a charm and i can start the mission.
But now it stuck on "AuburnAlumni present ..." black screen  :lol: (it's just never end)

I think i can fix it myself in intro.sqf

 

kremator, autonomous mode in Steam. (+ auto-updates disabled, only when try to run game). I play ArmA SP only, so it's not problem for me. I already have bad experience with patches.

I give up. It just don't want to work. No matter what role i choose - i stuck in intro screen. And even if i cut it off - i have zero control over my character, i even doesn't see him. (without any script errors)

 

I think

always return false;

 

Looks like guy from steamworkshop has the same problem:

 
Jmayr2000: the mission never started i got a unable to locate postioning system and i clicked continue and the mission never started.

 

Also - mission doesn't work without Task Force Radio. (which marked as Recommended in description)

In any case, I do not have any tabs for teams available... not sure what the issue is, no errors are popping up.  I looked at the mas_usa_usoc_veh.pbo that shoker was having problems with, but it seems to be in the right spot already...

i forgot to add "VEHICLE OPTIONAL CONFIG" to @ussocom_mas

 

Did you moved @ussocom_mas\VEHICLE OPTIONAL CONFIG to @ussocom_mas\addons folder? (mas_usa_devg_v.pbo)

If you get any pop-up message (about missing entities) when you trying to play it, then you can't select roles. If not then i don't know.

Ok version 1.1 now uploaded:

 

-Fixed an accidental dependency for Task Force Radio.  No longer a dependency for mission to work.  (My bad there!)

 

-Fixed two errors in init.sqf that was spamming script errors at launch.  Should help with folks who are freezing at intro screen.

 

 

I just tested myself on MP LAN and it loaded right up for me as well.  Let me know if you still have issues.

Okay!  I downloaded a different version of Fallujah (one off steam) and now I'm able to select a role and start the mission.

 

However I get the same issue as shoker now... on the briefing screen no map appears and I get a 'Cannot connect to global positioning service'

 

Upon hitting 'Continue' it starts up the little intro music and 'Autigergrad presents...'  but sticks there.

autigergrad - are you running dedicated server?

From ALIVE readme:

We do not currently support “Hosted†MP play, ALiVE MP requires a Dedicated Server. You can however run a Dedicated Server and join it from the Arma 3 Client on the same PC.

Also got this in my *.rpt

 

23:08:49 Script 'x\alive\addons\main\static\fallujah_staticData.sqf' not found

But Fallujah listed in supported maps here.

UPD: After removing of ALIVE Data module from mission.sgm, i'm finally able to play it. But all player tasks marked as "Completed". As i understand the only way to play this mission properly - is to run dedicated server?

Yes I'm using a dedicated server.

 

You don't have to have a dedicated server to run ALiVE.  ALiVE works just fine in a locally hosted MP as well.  The only difference is you can't save your persistence in locally hosted, only on dedi.

 

But yes, you can play any ALiVE mission in a local LAN setup, or SP and it will work.

 

Fallujah works fine when I run debug in regards to ALiVE spawning units properly.
