Attempting to make my own factions and units

Thank you for the answer Locklear

 

I wish to have one of my factions made up of one ethinicity(in this case, Asian) how do I set it where all the soldiers use Asian heads?

I guess you have a base class for soldiers of your faction, and that it's inherited from one of vanilla base classes. Check the identityTypes[] property of that parent class in Config Viewer, and copypaste that into your base soldier, just replace "Head_<something>" with "Head_Asian".

new problem has propped up, I have attempted to use the procedurel texture, but i get this ingame

and as you can tell in the background behind the error message, the vehicle has no hull

Please use (argb,8,8,3) in your texture. The first two numbers set the resolution of the texture, which has to be power of 2 (2n), that's why your texture couldn't be loaded.

For some reason, since the Apex release, all the vehicles in my custom factions dont show up

Righty, it seems that it might have been something with CBA, since they updated, the vehicles are showing up again

 

now, just have to sort out something else, in the config posted above, I have tried to use the new CSAT Qilin LSV, and give it a greyish white texture, but ingame it still shows up with the normal CSAT texture

Righty, now im trying to have the Offroads onlly use the "Beige" colors, but I dont know how to make it so they only use those colors

I think that may due to the offroad vehicles using the method BI use to mange multiple textures across the same vehicle model, the class textureSources route.

 

Here's my version of a custom offroad for a guerilla faction I made;

 

I could be wrong of course, I'm only an amateur at this stuff :) Looking over your questions, I think many can be answered by pulling apart the original configs from BI or if a modder has done something you're trying to do. What I know pretty much comes from google, reverse-engineering and occasionally coming on here :)

 

Seeing how BI does things is very easy now with the Eden editors option to see an objects config while in the editor! Its awesome!

Sadly, that code didnt work, so that means that for now, ill just have it use the usual offroad guerilla texture for now.

 

New question, I want to use the sample arma 2 assets provided kindly by bohemia to add a ural truck, how do I set one up for Arma 3?

Hey man, sorry I haven't been on the forum in awhile.

 

Anyway, for now, I think your best bet is to base it off of the A3 sample car. When I get back on my PC later I'll try to get a better answer for you.

Righty, so I have gotten to the point of retexturing some vanilla assets, however, while my vehicle retextures are so far fine, the uniform retexture I have done is not showing up

Righty, is there any scripts for randomizing uniforms? more specifically 2 uniforms that I have made, and I want it to randomize between the 2 of them

sadly no answers, there is 1 mod that I know that has a randomize uniforms script, and that was the PMC mod, and I think Theseus Services does the same, I keep forgetting to msg the lead of the Theseus Services mod to see if he can allow me to use it
