Eden update: STATUS_DLL_INIT_FAILED

Recommended Posts

After yesterday's Eden update, my arma 3 won`t start anymore. The launcher started, but when I click on Play button, I always get this error message: STATUS_DLL_INIT_FAILED

Restart PC didn't solve the problem.

What is the solution?

PS: when I want to post the error at tracker, the arma3.tracker redirect me to dayz.tracker... WTF?

Thanks, it was a good idea. I tried and steam said everything is validated. But still won't start the game. Same error message. :(

I'm having the same issue, same error message. Win7 x64.

Not sure if I should add all my info here, or should post a separate thread.

Same error here, I've verified the integrity of game cache, I even uninstall and re-installed the game from steam and nothing changed.

Win7x64 as well.

Win7 x64 here too.

Reinstall everything, upgrade video driver, but still same error and arma 3 don't start.

This new launcher is worst then Uplay.

@jungletek: in my opinion don't post your detailed error report here, but in arma3.tracker. Unfortunately the tracker is currently down.

Yeah, I'd noticed. I was about to post there when they took it down, and I saw the email that explained why.

I sent an email to BI support and I got this response: "please try clean reinstallation of Arma 3: 1. Uninstall the game.2. Make a backup of Arma 3 folder in Documents.3. Delete both Arma 3 folders in Documents and Steam: \Users\*YOUR USERNAME*\Documents\Arma 3 \Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3 4. Reboot your PC.5. Run Steam as Admin, download the game.6. Try to run Arma 3 (without mods)".

It didn't work for me, but just in case, try it, also BI support works from Monday to Friday so I guess we will have to wait for a solution at least until Monday, I was really looking forward for the Eden update... :(

Thanks for posting this. I guess it's some automated answer, like 'did you turn it off and on, please'.

And I hope they will answer real at Monday.

Put this in your launch perameters, it should fix it most definitely

-nobenchmark

Tried it, but no luck., thanks anyway.

Hello,

thank you very much for your feedback and sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

Are you using any mods? If so, are you experiencing same issue when there are no mods running?

If you can please try to export you launcher logs, here's how to do that:

1. Start ARMA 3 Launcher
2. Click Options menu
3. Drop down menu will appear
4. Select: Prepare Arma Troubleshooting error and save those files
5. A notification will pop up with the name of the generated file
Please note that it might take some time for files to collect.

Once you have generated the file, please upload it to some free file sharing service and PM me the link.

Thank you

@razazel: Thanks. I created the report Log and send a PM with the dropbox link where I upload.

I turned off every mod in the launcher, so I hope there those are not loaded. But the problem is occurred much earlier the arma usually load the mods. When I click in the Play button, I got the error message in 1-2 seconds. No loading splash screen, nothing, just the error message.

@AlphaVirus: Unfortunately, no luck with -nobenchmark option.

Have you tried directly launching the ArmA3.exe and therefore bypassing the launcher?

Didn't work here either.

I imagine we all tried this before posting.

Heya

Just a little extra info here. I've been getting a series of Status errors since the eden update. I've gotten these over the course of a few hours of editing and playing :

STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION
STATUS_DLL_INIT_FAILED

APPLICATION_HUNG

Tried most if not all the steps recommended here with no change. Still getting regular STATUS_ crashes.

Many people getting these? Problem with 1.56 stable? Or more an issue with my (our) particular build?

Not many, but we, who post here got the same error. And yes, since Eden (1.56 stable) update. I guess: you use win7 x64?

Win8.1 x64

Might be the impetus to upgrade to win10.

No it isn't I have the same problem only its the access violation version.

warnsey  with win 10. x64. I'm trying to copy mission intros. I think I shall have to rewrite them from scratch.

You are getting these crashes only with imported missions in the eden editor? That seems to be where I am crashing the most.

We can't even start the game. Maybe you guys need to make your own thread, as the error message is different, as well as the circumstances.

Oh right, I just re-read the OP's message. I misread at first. not the same issue at all. Thanks for the heads up.

So I got a message from BI support, first they told me to try this: "Open Arma 3 launcher, go to the "Parameters" and switch to the "ADVANCED" tab. Now you should see the checkbox for "Malloc" under the advanced. Please check it and try to reproduce the issue with different memory allocators".

That didn't work so today I got a new message :

"please navigate to the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\_CommonRedist\vcredist

and install (right click and select "Run as administrator") both "vcredist_x64"

and "vcredist_x86" from all folders. Then please open the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma

3\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

and install (right click and select "Run as administrator") "DXSETUP.exe".

The last thing you have to do is to open the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\_CommonRedist\DotNet\4.5.1

and install (right click and select "Run as administrator") "NDP451-KB2872776-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe"..

That didn't work either, but, just in case, try both solutions.

Tomorrow is going to be a full week since we are unable to play Arma3, I hope they do something to fix this.
