Robin DR 400

Recommended Posts

Someone else noticed, that you will explode if you roll fast and turn hard to the left / right?

Aircraft 101, don't hard turn at 62 km/h on the ground...

step 1: someone tells me it turns to slow on ground,

step 2: i change it,

step 3: now i get a vid about a bug : )

why would you want to turn at high speeds while on ground :D?

in arma logic an explosion is what I would expect as a result.

The DR400 is supposed to be able to take turns quite tight, at the correct taxi speeds.

With speeding into corner it should probably overturn and hit the wing on the ground? Possible to do that? Owner of the DR400, how that works? ;)

Sadly, I only fly in DCS World 1.5.2 ;)

At that speed you should easily rudder it arround the corner. It wont flip over.

I think you should check out your geo lod.

btw. Ill give you some info on how it flies compared to real life.

Ok I did some 'flight testing'. With my experience as an instructor pilot on this, some years ago.

Obiously Arma flightmodels are hard to compare to real life.

Here is my feedback:

- Turning on the ground damages the aircraft far too easily

- Control surfaces are too sensitive at the lower speeds

- Controls seems a tad too sensitive in general

- FoV is too high. It looks like the aircraft is super tiny. Lower the FoV.

Suggestions:

- Add Stall warning a few degrees before the actual 'stall' (Easily scripted)

Hope that helps.

Edit : same warnings on your FAA2000

Updating this bird...

Thx for that log xjoker. The driver and cargo get in points are all there. Otherwise none would be able to board it.

No idea how to turn that message off. At least that error does not spam/repeat. We have to ignore it for now.

I have reduced sensitivity and FoV a little, cockpit got upgraded, so did the bump mapping.

There is no way how i can make it drive nicely, I am happy it moves at all.

Shiny :)

I love bumpmapping

The turn coordinator and the artificial horizon are nuts. I doubt i can make them work the way I want to. Oh well can't have it all : )

New version is on steam and might be updated every few hours till I am happy.

If it works for the other people I will post a non steam download link here soon.

Let's jump to Robin DR-400 version 0.8

PS: My steam versions sometimes turn into the development branch and might get updated a few times in a few hours

(I will always post a zip here a bit later when I have reached a 'stable' version)

Sabre nice on posting the cockpit view also, that looks like one of the best models i've seen you put out. Will download now and try it out, also do love how you post your work on multiple sources like steam which makes everything easier.

So tried it out and a few things i found, one the players head is very high up and makes seeing things kinda hard in first person. Also the window how it curves at the top and have that warp and glare effect again makes looking outside more difficult. Flies pretty well and the gauges seem fine, but first person with the plane is a pretty big pain because of your head position and the window effects.
