Gunter Severloh 4056 Posted March 27, 2017 Update I plan to build a final patch for IFA3WarMod. Basically the new patch will update various mods in the mod, nothing new will be added, just updated which there is quite a few of them, so these updates should make the mod more stable and perform better and remove any errors. The next patch will be version 1.15 and it will be my final patch for IFA3WarMod. As for IFA3 i really have nothing more to offer the IF community in terms of my WarMods, I am rather burnt out on IFA3WarMod, I mean I've only updated the thing 14 times plus one more still coming, and rebuilt it twice. These updates in IFA3 and Arma3 really turned me off, because the mod played how i wanted it to, it had perfect sound, effects, ect,. but updates are inevitable its the only way to progress, but these updates rendered my mod not functional in some respects to the original goal. The mod is still fun to use, and play with and I wont play without it, at least my autozoom still works, think I'd lose my mind not having that feature in the mod, lol Anyways cant say when atm when I'll be back with this latest patch, i really just want to relax, and get away from it, my WarMods really burn me out mentally, why i end up doing one a year now, plus Im having fun playing other games i really enjoy and recording episodes for my Utube channel which is alot of fun. Gunter Severloh 4056 Posted May 30, 2017 Update Whats up WarMod fans! i have a new patch i been working on, its actually pretty cool, i had alot of fun with IFA3 with it over the weekend but heres my plan, i will be releasing this patch which will be version 1.15 after IFA3 Lite's upcoming update which should be this week, so patch release should be either on June 2nd or the 3rd of this coming week!Why am i waiting for IFA3? Because i need to test it with their latest build in case i have to remove a file, other then new content IFA3 will have updates on other things like fixes or changes and stuff depends. Little news for you on the upcoming patch.Currently I am in testing and also working on a customized version of the mod with v1.15 patch applied, this new version is basically what i play with which is geared towards mainly performance aside some features I'm not interested in.Testing overall Atm i have run into 1 issue with 1 of the mods in the mod that was updated, which im going to have to not update it and see how it performs with its earlier version.What to expect: - Patch release is going to be delayed til Sunday June 4th - Demonstration video of the patch which will be recorded using my customized version mainly to demonstrate the new additions.- Patch will have 3 versions: Full patch v1.15 Full version IFA3WarMod v1.15 Customized Full IFA3WarMod v1.15 Stay tuned! This does not include pistols. Gunter Severloh 4056 Posted June 6, 2017 Hey guys heres the demonstration video finally had some issues with uploading it yesterday, would have had it at the same time i made the above post but utube was giving me troubles, so i ended up re-rendering the vid and made it 1920x1080 60p HD, anyways the video demonstrates the new additions in the patch and then i demonstrate a small scenario while also doing a review of some of the features of the custom version of the mod. Broreale 0 Posted June 12, 2017 This mod freezes/crashes on startup. I've made sure to only run IFA3LITE with all the requisite files. An error I got on startup was something having to do with the ACE mk.6 mortar files not being found. Is ACE required for this mod? Because I disabled it to make sure there were no issues/redundancies. This is confusing. My computer's no pushover, but it freezes on the mod's startup immediately. No ACE is not required for the mod as ACE is already in the mod, but not all ACE files are in the mod and the IFA3 Lite's ACE compatibility file is also already in the mod, so you should only be running the following: @CBA_A3;@CUP Terrains_Core @IFA3 Lite & @IFA3WarMod or my custom version @IFA3WarModC Quote An error I got on startup was something having to do with the ACE mk.6 mortar files not being found. For the mortar, that is not in the mod, if you did want it in the mod then just add the ace file for it to the addons folder, the file for it is titled ace_mk6mortar.pbo This missing file is probably your issue, as im guessing your running ace with my mod and its conflicting with the ace already in the mod. I didn't add the mortar file because before IFA3 lite's update where you could use the mortar I had the patch already released. When you install the mod be sure to move the userconfig from the the mod's folder ---> IFA3WarMod Full version 1.15 to your Arma3 directory which should be here if you have win7---> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3 As for the loading screen, there isn't one, all your going to see is at the top left above the arma3 menu bar above quickplay is IFA3WarMod banner, aside that the only time you will see the video that plays on the background is if you dont own APex or you have exited virtual arsenal, or the editor at least thats when it comes up for me, see my above post with the patch video you can see what im referring too. Delete ifa3_comp_ace_mortar.pbo in your /@IFA3WarMoD/addons/ folder, and enable Show static background in menu in the Arma 3 Launcher parameters. Change Platform to 32-bit. As for myself i never had issues with my mod, so i always wondered why anyone else did, but maybe part of the reason was i use armasync to start my game with mods, as the A3 launcher wont start for me, it always crashes. Gunter Severloh 4056 Posted June 14, 2017 Update Reuploaded the Patch, Full, and C version for v1.15 they have the ifa3_comp_ace_mortar.pbo file removed from them so you shouldn't be getting error with ACE asking for the mortar file now. If you guys are getting an issue with the loading screen when using the A3 launcher then remove this file: IFA3WARMod_client.pbo If theres any other issues or questions/feedback let me know, help me improve my mod. Gunter Severloh 4056 Posted July 3, 2018 Hey guys its been about a year since my last post here, i was wondering if anyone is still playing with the mod, and would anyone be interested if i were to revamp the mod (rebuild it) which would be just a major update with some things removed/changes, and new additions? New version would be 1.16 if i were to do it, i already have a working version i play with but it has new stuff and other things that IFA3WarMod dont. Maybe a possibility to get it also on Steam Workshop but that will take a bit to contact all the modders for the mods in my mod and ask them permission to see if they would be ok with their mod in mine on the workshop. Gunter Severloh 4056 Posted July 10, 2018 Looking into the full version 1.15, i know ace is out of date, latest version ace atm in IFA3WarMod is from 2017 and latest for ace now is April 2018, so ya about a year. As for the other files there are a number of mods i know that i have swapped for others, theres 2 mods i know of that i removed because they work a different way. There is quite a bit of new stuff i have that i use with no issues that i think the fans of the mod would love. The real trick behind the mod is permissions, now i have permissions of course from all the modders to have what i have currently in the 1.15 version but some of the new stuff i dont so i need to seek them out, and lastly to upload the mod on steam workshop which imo is ideal. It could work if the mod is already on steam workshop but then the permissions would be for their mod in my mod on the workshop which i dont think there would be issues along as i give credits which pretty much most modders tell me that i have asked permissions, but i still need to ask none the less. I will need to recontact all the modders plus the new authors for the new mods i wish to add, that will be a chore, so til i can an ok,np, please credit ect,. from these guys to put it up on steam workshop then it wont happen. Right now i think i will just update the mod to where i want it, test it out and let you guys know how it goes, and then seek out updating permissions accordingly. Gunter Severloh 4056 Posted July 24, 2018 Thing i hate the most of my own mod is trying to contact modder's for their permission when they havent been around, or trying to get a hold of people that are around and dont respond, at some point in time i say why bother, i'll build it for myself, atm thats where i sit, idk if im going to bother going public with this mod again, im rather annoyed by my real life situation of not having a ride right now, especially when no one responds to my inquiries in buying their car, why TF do you have an ad up to sell your car then! As for the mod all i have done with the mod is rebuild it, updated ace to latest version seen on steam workshop, added and swapped alot of features (addons & mods), and just yesterday i removed a mod that had an error on the screen the whole time i was playing my test mission, so found that file after 10times yanking this file or that file and restarting the game each time, a wtf moment almost everytime, right when you think its a certain file its not. im sitting on the fence with the mod, i'd like to get it on steam workshop as its alot easier to update it that way, but then my most hated task is contacting the authors which i already have a handful of permissions. Am i wasting my time with updating this mod to the 16th time, i mean seriously would anyone even play with it if i got it on steam workshop? 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
