WARSIM - Persistent Military Careers [ALPHA]

WARSIM is a multiplayer game mode for Arma 3. Its core features are player persistence, dynamic missions and territory control. There are three factions made up of players - NATO, CSAT and the AAF. Each faction fights to control the most territory with added AI missions/attacks throughout to keep you on your toes. Players can setup observation posts and forward operating bases that generate territory, allowing that faction to deploy more assets further afield.

Will this be editable to add addon loadouts for mod servers? Also can't wait to see this on my servers.

Yes it is entirely editable for mods. All you'll have to do is copy the editor objects to a new map and then change some class names in the config file and you're done!

I'm changing the FOB system to a more player-driven approach. Instead of having X amount of FOBs already setup on mission start, there will only be a few FOBs that will contain a decent amount of vehicles and supplies. Players can then go on deployment at these FOBs and move out and setup their own OP (observation post). This will require repair specialists to deploy a fortification tower and will then get the option to name their OP. OPs and FOBs are similar except a FOB will contain more assets. Both are persistent so players can actually create bases that other players can be deployed on.

I also tested the mission on Reshmaan (community map) and it works perfectly. I'm planning on having a modded server running PRKZ and some present-day mod packs. As for those who would want to run this mission on their own server, I will also be making a PHP control panel for managing player profiles and perhaps some other stuff. I've found that editing the DB files directly can be dangerous if done wrong so a CP would be better.

I've just got a VPS which is currently being setup so once that's all good to go I'm going to be hosting WARSIM for public testing. I'll give details of the server, allowed mods and a TS3 server for optional comms once it's ready to go.

I'll be testing WARSIM from now till whenever so please join if you would like to try something new out. Everyone is welcome to join the Teamspeak server if they wish. There is a chance that your player data will be deleted once the test is over so don't expect your rank/role to still be there a few weeks down the line.

Yeah sorry guys, I took it down after finding some bugs myself. I think I'm gonna finish the mission and then just let the public use it on their own servers.

I agree with DreadedEntity. Weeekly progress reports could help a lot ot gain interest too. Even if its 'did nothing this week decided to get drunk and be lazy'. lol. The waiting is killing me

Thanks for all the comments! I'm supposed to get an email every time someone posts here but it's not working.. I will try to do weekly updates. I'm currently working on changing the main part of the missions' AI system. I'm trying to get a more insurgency feeling rather than domination zones. My aim is to create a system similar to the stock market where different stocks go up and down all the time, so in the mission, territory always changes and it should keep the mission fresh and infinite.

I talked with the developer of this project and the project is not dead. Living real life takes much time of his and he can't continue it for the time being.
