Overweight & Obesity by countries

Recommended Posts

Interesting overview about overweight in countries worldwide .....

Overweight & Obesity (Washington Post)

Here’s one metric where the U.S. – thankfully -- is not number one. The chart below, made by Ramon Martinez, a technical specialist in health metrics for the World Health Organization, shows 188 countries ranked in descending order by the percentage of their population that is overweight or obese, which is defined as having a body mass index of over 25.

The horizontal lines indicate how that percentage changed between 1990 and 2013, based on data from the 2013 Global Burden of Disease Study.

North Korea being at the bottom is just priceless.

On a more serious note, does this chart say that around %75 of world population is overweight/ obese, or am I mission something?

Yeah mass index 25 as an overweight is just pure bullshit. I'm just balancing on both sides of that and I feel it's the perfect point to be. Get some muscles and you're suddenly overweight...

The mass index is just a statistic indicator. It has been observed that most of the people that are more healthier and less prone to sickness are those who are between 19 and 25.
