R3vo 2654 Posted March 11, 2015 Suggestion for the Virtual Garage: Put all support vehicles and support pods intro their own category, e.g Support. http://i3.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/list/000/762/009/74d.jpg I am 100% this burst mode is not intended. The sounds are buggy and it's way too fast.
CaptainAzimuth 714 Posted March 11, 2015 I am 100% this burst mode is not intended. The sounds are buggy and it's way too fast. I kinda like it, for the sole purpose of defense at close quarters. The burst mode kinda makes up for not being able to switch firing rate. If they were to change it, than I suggest they just make 3 separate firing rates based on the real life counter part. 900 rpm, 750rpm, and 600rpm.

That thing is unrealistic as hell - there's no way that MG could work like that ever even AN-94 doesn't work like this and Navid should have full automatic mode only like the real thing does

Rate of fire approx. 640/720/800 rounds/min ---------- Post added at 13:32 ---------- Previous post was at 13:30 ---------- Edit: the Germans would be offended that someone thinks their gun can't do what it's designed to do. It is also manufactured to replace existing old guns for what special forces they have. Given that it can change fire rate on the fly, I'd say they either add that, or keep the burst mode. Besides, the extreme kick you get that burst mode is enough to counter it's deadly burst.
roberthammer 582 Posted March 11, 2015 *Insert Bane's Face*What if I told you, you are dead wrong? You know the MG5 - BIS Navid , you have to set that Gas setting exactly same way as on FN MAG/M240 - there is no button or selector to switch fast fire mode in quick motion and that gas settings is different with each individual MG5 variant

roberthammer 582 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Hmmm... How long would it take to change the gas setting? Much longer time , meaning you can't do that in the battlefield also it would need to change whole buffer part to get a faster rate of fire Edited March 11, 2015 by RobertHammer

roberthammer 582 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Wrong. It's a flick of a switch. On FN Mag you needed a wrench to do that , but on MG5 it can be done with the bullet - ye that part i was wrong still it's not a fast as pressing a single button + the MG5A2 which is the model of Navid - has a special buffer that reduces recoil and stabilises the rate of fire but it also slows rate down because of that buffer - same thing is on M240B or in M240L , the so rate fire can be around 600-700 max per minute Edited March 11, 2015 by RobertHammer
slatts 1978 Posted March 11, 2015 Lower/highering the ROF on the FN-MAG isn't necessarily done for giving the shooter the sole benefit of a higher ROF as far as I know. It's done due to the fact as dirt builds up due to usage the gas tube can be blocked, slowing down the ROF. As this happens in the field and you can't just whip out a cleaning kit, you increase the gas pressure thus improving the ROF. On a clean weapon this does increase the rate of fire, but you don't do it as it'll wear out the parts quicker.

Exactly , when you set the maximum rate of fire , then the barrel wears quickly and it also can cause jams
