Tonci87 163 Posted January 25, 2015 Remain sceptical, it´s Microsoft after all. Anybody remember the really cool concept adverts for the Kinect when they introduced the idea?

nodunit 397 Posted January 27, 2015 Nice pipedream but I highly doubt all of that CG rendering they just showed off would actually happen, even if this were to become a reality I can't see it being owned by anyone but people with a lot of money to burn. Also not a great example on the teaching thing with the pipe...TIGHTEN ON ENDS so difficult to understand. Although I'm sure it would be hilarious the first few times when the motorcycle mesh you are working on winds up clipping through the wall and then won't allow you to set it to that 0.1cm space because the snap grid is only so large or it mistakes your table for the motorcycle. Of course we all know the reality...dickbutt everywhere.
x3kj 1247 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) roflmao... as if an employee on a computer says "i have an idea for the fuel tank" and modifies it with finger motions (how does the _thing_ even know where she anted to modify what?) We already have VR rooms, and they are used for evaluating car designs and so on. And designers don't make individual parts. They design the whole thing in one go and dont need pipedream toys like that to see how it looks. And what's up with all the ridiculous swiping, wishing and giant hand motions in "this is the future" dreams ? It's neither particulary comfortable nor precise nor fast.
