Awesome job :) Your mod encompasses a lot of different aspects into one mod. Sound, Content, it is all very high quality too. Keep up the great work, and can not wait to see what is to come.

Dear VTN Team,

 

Thankyou for your efforts on this mod.

 

I am having some troubles with the M224 60mm Mortar. I cannot seem to look at the sighting device on it. I have tried going into optics and trying to 'free look' down at it but my view is locked. In the video it shows you looking at the sight?!

Also, it has 2 scales - left hand up to 400m and right hand to 1.3 km I presume. I understand this weapon has a range of 1.3 km however I am unable to get it to fire that far.

Edit : also would it be possible to adjust elevation with the page up / page down keys as per the BIS mortar - this way it makes it much easier to adjust accurately?

Note: The mortar isn't at static weapons in EDEN and isn't at the Virtual Arsenal Garage anymore! You can find it as a М224А1 mortar squad in the EDEN or at backpacks in the Virtual Arsenal.

Press S (W to look forward) to look at the sight and perform vertical homing, again, with the mouse. At the moment only working scale is the left one (red) up to 1312ft (400m).

Why you need ace 3? VTN have almost every important module like ace itself, you can delete some of ace features and use VTN instead. Also you can ask ACE developers for such compatibility.

I mean to put it simply, they've only now added backblast.

 

I understand they have a certain vision, but fact of the matter is that it is not ACE3 with variation why most people want to try and get the mod into their communities, it is the beautiful, well made and varied US and Russian assets. And even then it clashes with RHS a bit in terms of content, making it hard to justify. 3CB is ACE3 compatible. RHS is (mostly) compatible. NIArms are ACE3 compatible. CUP is mostly compatible. Noone wants to throw away 3CB, NiArms, CUP and others just because, while it has very high quality assets, VTN mod insists on a proprietary system. It's like when a program makes it own file extension - unless you are going big, it's just going to help drown your program.

I personally love the quality and detail of the VTN mod, however on its own it has limited scope in terms of combined arms (not necessarily a bad thing, I think this game series has always done infantry combat better than combined arms anyway). However when you do want the extra content which mod do you use - as someone mentioned RHS duplicates a lot of stuff and feels incompatible. RHS stuff also looks brand new and shiny whereas VTN looks battle weary which is good.

 

CUP possibly

 

if I was to make a mission tomorrow and post it on the forum and say you need RHS / CUP / VTN then the audience would be limited to who could download 15gb of addons which duplicate a lot of stuff to varying degrees of quality.

 

just some random thoughts

Is there anywhere we can find documentation on this mod? I've looked on your website, in the readme files and I'm starting to actually depbo the files just to figure out what's going on. For instance... 

1. What are the User Action keys bound to?

2. How do we put earplugs in?

3. How do we use the medical system? (Pale skin == ?)

4. How do we use the advanced grenade throwing?

5. Are there any clackers for explosives or is it just the vanilla explosives? 

...

 

I have so many questions. If you could even point me in the right direction, I wouldn't mind making manuals or PDF's.

I actually found a medic guide finally. For those interested: 

 

 

Would still love to know how to put in ear plugs and use a lot of this stuff. Also, if there's a way to tweak any mission settings like bleed-out time, prevent instant death, etc.
