jandrews 116 Posted August 28, 2014 simply YES. I have spent more time playing the arma series then all other games combined. I have met and played with many fun players and people I still keep in touch with even after the clans die. It is simply the BEST broken game out there. By far. Need more A3 maps. Bouben 3 Posted August 28, 2014 I vote for option 4: "I had bought it on first day available if there was a non-steam, DRM free version." Steam was one of the best things that happened to the series. No looking back from me on this one.
the_demongod 31 Posted August 29, 2014 Steam was one of the best things that happened to the series. No looking back from me on this one. Yeah, impossible to argue with that point. Steam has been amazing for Arma 3, ranging from the choice between Dev and Stable branch (allows people to just play the game, but those who would like to help develop can if they want, also allows BI to make daily updates), to the Workshop, which perfectly complements Arma's sandbox-style gameplay and development. Steam is working great, I can't think of a better possible outcome.
comp_uter15776 1 Posted August 29, 2014 I personally love it. Paid for the DD version (£40/£50?) and it currently sits at my most played game of around 700 hours. Interestingly most of these were around the alpha/beta, because as we reached full release I got very busy in life. Even so I would not hesitate to purchase it again, the concepts for DLC are good and very fairly priced. The DLC model is also one of the best things to happen so far. As others have said, I'm not a fan of the RPG/Altis Life stuff because of the lack of coordinated milsim teamwork, but I appreciate that everyone can have it their way™. Looking forward to the Helicopter and Marksmen DLC now!
rakowozz 14 Posted August 29, 2014 On my way to 2500 hours and at least 75% of it, I'm sure, were in the editor. Which means I've bought not a game, but an entire platform for me to be creative on. Glad I joined the fun.
katipo66 94 Posted August 29, 2014 Steam was one of the best things that happened to the series. No looking back from me on this one. I never used steam until Arma 3 and then I obviously had to, I love steam now, Im getting games I would never get in a shop where I am, although I've learnt not to buy into every early access game :)
Rich_R 1087 Posted August 29, 2014 Brilliant, brilliant brilliant! Easily the best game on the PC, very happy with it from day one. The amazing thing about Arma 3 is it gets better everyday, there are no other games you can say that about (IMO). Making a note of those that feel DLC is needed to make the game acceptable. I'll just hang on onto these spare gold bars and certainly not give them away to those particular gamers. The gold bars would obviously be too heavy for them :)
Alwarren 2767 Posted August 30, 2014 With over 1000 hours on the counters, I can safely say that it was worth every cent I paid for it, even considering I bought the supporter edition which came in at 80 Euros.
