Burnes Armories Tanks and Deployment Vehicles

Looks great Burnes, as your other addons do. Looking forward to the T90 as well! I've only tested the released vehicles a bit in the editor so far but it's so cool to finally see how these MBTs look inside.

Have you paid much attention to the armor values of the vehicles? It'd be interesting to hear.

Try checking with Reyhard mate, he's pretty good with tanks.... so I've heard :)

Thanks for the suggestion i tried it out but no luck... still working on the problem though so hopefully be back on track soon

in the meantime i put together a pre-release trailer just to show where things are at right now

Are you implementing the red interior lighting at night? I think it's more realistic. Can we expect other versions of her also. Such as the following one.

Haha i don't think my mods come anywhere near the likes of MCC or AGM. I'm basically a mechanic, those guys are gods :p Thanks though means alot to know you guys like my mods ;)

I will be releasing this in an initial version (so may still have bugs/limitations/some missing textures) sometime in the next few days, could be as soon as tommorow but will definately be before wednesday regardless of other factors.

At present the only other version i have planned is the TES with multi-spectral camo material. I don't have any plans for earlier versions like that from Kosovo pictured but i may add things like dozer blade options in future. I have a whole bunch of features planned that will make arma tank warfare more realistic but at the moment university is eating into my arma time quite alot lol, damn education :p lol

oh and yes i would like to add lala14's lighting script again to this and the abrams. havn't gone back to have a look why it stopped working in the public version of the abrams in a while so may have better insight into that now

Yes MCC and agm are very good but im compare they are different types of mods. Your mods are vehicle mods and very good ones at that. So in that area of modding you are up at one of the best

I agree, but I say 100% best at vehicle mods. I don't think anyone has gone quite this far yet. Also, the red interior works on my version of the mod, but I noticed it still isn't all that dark. With the interior being red I would expect to see more of a photo development room if you know what I mean. Are you possibly going to tweak this? Also and sorry to be a pain lol I was wondering if you were going to give them a more lived in look to them? Such as gear and equipment strapped down to the hull. A few sandbags maybe.

That's it on additions. I only have one more question.

In a previous post, I think the first one. You mentioned wanting to do a Bridge layer? is that your next project or are you sticking to MBT's for now?

That is quite a narrow-minded opinion. There are many brilliant modders. John-Spartan & Saul with their FA-18's, AusSnipe with his USS Iowa, Olli Koskelainen & The FC-37 Thunder, Kol9yN with the SEABOB MAGNUM WATER SHADOW 730, lyotchik-sniper with an awesome SUKHOI T-50 (PAK-FA) and there are many other great "Vehicle Mods". Don't you think these guys need some recommendation too? How would you feel if you were one of these guys and you read your comment. I know it would make them feel bad, so in the future I kindly ask that you think about what you say.

On another note yes Burnes is one of these brilliant modders and also deserves complements.

not to mention that every one of my releases still have bugs or are unfinished in some way. i try out new things and concepts but novelty is a poor substitute for quality. And you should have included yourself in that list btw Raid you're mods are awesome and your help with mine was very much appreciated ;)

btw, in my opinion the best vehicle mod made for arma 3 is Peral's A10.

yes a titan bridge layer is in the works, it will have a deployable bridge with a roadway lod so it can be driven on although i'm not sure of its practical applications in arma so far as impassible terrain isnt much of a thing in arma.

as for the lighting tweaks/hull objects, yes to both, infact i'm currently creating an asset set of high detail clutter items like backpacks etc to be used on these vehicles. the abrams details were really just stopgaps and placeholders until i made better ones, the challengers will have them as an option too

oh, next on my list is the Briish MK10 LCU, these are some screenshots of the wip model

I would also really like to get started on the LeClerc soon as i kinda have a soft spot for that tank lol

That model looks awesome, I was hoping you'd be including that. And Raid, I apologize for sounding narrow minded, all those mods you listed look amazing but unfortunately I haven't had chance to test many of them. I will allow an open mind in future. But lets be honest....He gave tanks a 3d interior :D

On the clutter aspect, thank you for answering that. I'm really looking forward to this.

Also I think a cool feature in future would be to give the player the ability to deploy a cam net covered with foliage to allow the tank to be hidden a lot easier, maybe during a long patrol.

And the answer to that is it will be released when its ready, please don't ask when it will be released also as that's counted as spam here.

Almost ready guys. Mainly just a little cosmetic stuff to be done and tweaking to the hitpoints etc.

by the way I found out why Lala14's lighting script wasn't working on the public version of the Abrams. I forgot that there are entries in the lighting script for each vehicle classname you want included. I changed the classnames for the public version to differentiate them from the 15th MEU version and forgot to make the change in the script. My bad lol, but Lala14's script adds a lot to the immersion at night so i'm glad i can get it back in there again.

Also have you fixed some of the bugs with the AI not engaging on their own and such. Also the bearing indicators and such.

the loader bearing indicator is unfixable as far as i'm aware, the arma tank config setup only allows for 3 positions in a tank to be 'official' and therefore catered for with a bearing indicator. No fix for the gunner problem yet either, when i figure out why though i will be included in an update. As for the sounds yeah the chally perkins engine sounds amazing but i've had to make do with arma sounds due to, well, a few reasons really. It sounds 'ok' though. not great, but ok.

Ok download link for the initial release version is up. There are many unfinished areas but i figure at this point i could do with some feedback and community testing to work out the values in armor etc. The armor has almost not been tested i gave it a quick blast to destruction just to make sure it was working, bear in mind that the real life challenger 2 is very tough. As in reported to be the most heavily armored tank on the planet. In one engagement it was hit by over 60 rpg's and a Milan anti tank weapon, the optics had to be switched out and it was back in service 6 hours later.

The AI gunner problem is still there. There are some missing scripts for checking ammo count etc but that was down to my forgetfulness rather than them not being ready and i expect to update this later in the week with a finished interior etc.

anyway. This is my favorite piece of military equipment of all time so i hope i've done it justice. let me know what you guys think :)

The Challenger is looking really good! Is there any plans on adding a pintle mounted M240 or some kind of turned out weapon system?

no basically. the commander has no weapon on the challenger 2. he is freed up to focus on actually commanding the vehicle. as for the loader i don't think going back to the pintle mounted 240 has any benefit over the RWS. the RWS coincidently can be fitted with either an M240, an m2 (as in my current version) or a GMG. having a GMG in there might be interesting

BTW when i introduce my turret override/slaving system the commander will be able to operate as real commanders do by taking control of the main turret and moving it onto target for the gunner.

Loving the tank mate, as you said she's not 100% yet mate, haven't tested the armor but will see if we can get 60 rpg's out of her. I have noticed some errors here and there so let me list them for you.

1. Multiple options to turn on interior light.

2. No driver 3d part :(

3. The lights on the tank at the front aren't working properly.

4. She seems to fluent in movement, too light, possibly try to match the Abrams. Those values are much nicer.

5. Some textures are unfinished or not added yet, like you said will be finished.

6. No dirty version, where is she...I want her!!!!!!

7. Optics are good.

8. Textures around the driver outside view look stretched.

9. The interior light is either broken or it's just unfinished textures.

10. There isn't a telephone unit in the squared rack thing at the back of the tank. Are you adding that? (please do) :)

Other than that, its amazing, good job

Sounds good, it will be interesting to see in-game. As for the RWS having a GMG, that's something I would really like to see as it will make the tank that little bit more deadly.
