HAseONE 10 Posted July 7, 2014 Hi I play Arma 3 since the anniversary sale, and one thing makes me sick... Why do i have to stand still if i change weapons, reload... its so annoying. Changing weapon while full sprint is not what i want, but let me move! Or if i landed with a parachute. My Char have to pull his weapon out and stand up, before i can move. These situations where i cant defend myself or go out of the line of fire are frustrating :pet5:
Ckrauslo 12 Posted July 7, 2014 Hi there mate, yeah the game is a bit clunky in these situations, there is actually two mods that solve this whole situation, but one of the mods is a little tricky to use Here ya go http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=24655 This one is the parachute fix And this one is the http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=21553 switching weapons on the move ---------- Post added at 07:17 ---------- Previous post was at 07:15 ---------- One other thing, you will learn that to have a better gameplay some miscellaneous mods are required...look the arma 3 addon miscellaneous section in armaholic...and i know lot of people said this to ya, but welcome
the_demongod 31 Posted July 7, 2014 Reloading should work while moving, but I agree, the others are annoying.
Janez 531 Posted July 7, 2014 Reloading most weapons except launchers while moving should work in vanilla as it is. But please already, give us switching weapons on the move. I haven't used parachutes in Arma 3 until few days ago and of course, at landing, your model is glitching half a meter into the ground for few second and then is just standing there bringing weapon up. Same as A2, A1 and CWA. This should be really done in more elegant fashion. Im all for using mods and addons but I think this type of thing should really be improved in vanilla game. HAseONE 10 Posted July 8, 2014 The thing with Mods is, that if i use them i cant play on Multiplayer servers i think. The same thing is at healing myself or revive someone. Put the weapon away, start reviveing. Enemy appears "oh an enemy, let me first take my weapon before i go to cover" ...
Ckrauslo 12 Posted July 8, 2014 no, client side only mods shouldn't affect your capability of playing, but if you were to use something that would require everyone around you to use that would be a different thing, i usually am able to play with some mods in public no mods servers
mordeaniischaos 3 Posted July 8, 2014 no, client side only mods shouldn't affect your capability of playing, but if you were to use something that would require everyone around you to use that would be a different thing, i usually am able to play with some mods in public no mods servers Still, it's not an optimal situation and some servers might see mods that impact gameplay from the client side might be questionable and you could end up getting admin actions performed on you. And these are not things that mods should be required for. Honestly, BI should start taking mods like this, and integrate them into the game. Addons should be major mechanical things, not fixes. Assuming addon authors don't get all diva about it, and are given proper credit, it would stand to greatly improve the game. Hell, BI could even give some sort of small compensation for the authors' work based on the significance of the project. It would allow BI to focus on DLC that adds considerable new content or mechanics or engine features, and encourage the community to stop giving up mid development :p Forced animations is always something that has frustrated me in games. So many open world games that make getting into cars in the middle of a firefight take way too long... ArmA definitely isn't great about being especially responsive with animations and the like. Being able to cancel and avoid a lot of animations would be awesome.
katipo66 94 Posted July 9, 2014 I don't think it's as easy as taking a mod and simply applying it to the game, there are much more considerations at play and the mod would need to be guaranteed not to effect any other part of the game in an adverse way, so lots of time and resource to do that? All hypothetical of course.
