ATTACKM0DE 10 Posted June 30, 2014 Hi, Sorry if there's been a similar thread but I couldn't find it. My questions is, within Launch options there is a limited character amount and I wish to add further mods but are unable to. I know I could just add the mod into the main directly but I want to keep track of which ones go where? Is there a way to get around this limitation?? Thanks. nomisum 129 Posted June 30, 2014 o my, how much do you have? xD sorry but i have no better solution than using a modlauncher like Six. it makes things easier (presets) once you figured it out. Sent from mobile
Greenfist 1863 Posted June 30, 2014 You could make a shortcut instead of using the Steam launch parameters. But I don't know if the 260 character it allows is more than in Steam. Or try using a mod launcher like Play withSIX, maybe they have a higher character limit or a different way of using it.
13islucky 10 Posted June 30, 2014 If you really insist on using the launch options, you could try to combine several modfolders into one, reducing the amount of parameters you need. Alternatively, you could dump the launch params and use the in-game expansions menu like me, but you need to restart the game everytime you add something. flyinpenguin 30 Posted June 30, 2014 or you can use Arma 3's already built in expansion manager. When you start the game, go to configure, expansions. Its really easy to do.
mamasan8 11 Posted June 30, 2014 I noticed Play with Six uses a text-file of sorts to load the modlist when it's long. Can't remember the procedure exactly. Take a look at that, load lots of mods in PWS and find that file, think its in my docs/arma3/ folder.
flyinpenguin 30 Posted June 30, 2014 .kju mentioned a config file as well. I forgot about this. If you go into Documents\Arma 3 there should be a Arma3.cfg file. You can edit through that as long as you learn the syntax

That's probably the best way if you don't want to use a 3rd party launcher. Just create a text file with all the mods and enable/disable them by commenting //
