4-5 Players disconnected when admin joins

I've noticed every time I (server admin) join that 4-5 players get disconnected right away. It happens every time. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Typical log when I join:

(2014-06-05 | 15:00:50) : Player #10 Marvin disconnected
(2014-06-05 | 15:00:54) : Player #13 Connor disconnected
(2014-06-05 | 15:00:54) : Player #7 Gaza (25d4b8) has been kicked by BattlEye: Client not responding
(2014-06-05 | 15:01:00) : Player #9 Bailing_Out (7fdf40753f8f) has been kicked by BattlEye: Client not responding

I suspect they are having some form of bandwidth issues while downloading data caused by the admin joining

It turns out I cause at least 4-5 player disconnects whenever I join any server...even when I'm not the admin.

The first disconnect appears to be some forty seconds after you join.

Are you running any mods?

Yes I do, and I'm starting to suspect these mods are causing other players to crash and disconnect. Have you heard anything similar to this?

Badly configged xml's, especially the image can crash a server

Hmmm, the server doesn't crash but whatever is happening is crashing several clients. I'll run some tests tonight and report back.

If squad XML's have the potential when badly configured to crash an Arma3-server, is there then a way to disable em server-side ?

I removed my squad.xml file and guess what, the random client crashes/player disconnects stopped! I tried this on multiple servers and did not touch my mods. When I activated my squad.xml guess what, 4-5 people got disconnected right away (they crashed).

I CAN DEF SAY THAT A BAD SQUAD.XML (OR CONNECTION TO SQUAD.XML) IS CRASHING CLIENTS CONNECTED TO THE SERVER (The servers did not crash).

So here's the obvious questions, how do we block people with squad.xmls?

afaik, you cannot. This had been raised in the admin skype channel at some point as well

how about basic.cfg

maxCustomFileSize = 0 (or 1)

Should that not remove squad XML's and player transmitted sounds, simply by the files being to big ?

Nope, that doesn't block squad.xml. Just custom face and sounds (and I already have it set to 0).
