Gutsnav 13 Posted May 25, 2014 Does anyone else think we should be able to throw smoke grenades underwater? Why or why not? Would they do this in real life? I am thinking this would be useful if you needed a quick extraction or needed to mark a spot for a helicopter to drop an SDV or something.
Tonci87 163 Posted May 26, 2014 Throwing of stuff underwater was patched out during the Alpha without any explanation why. You could throw grenades, smoke shells and more importantly, chemlights.
WolfeUK 1 Posted May 26, 2014 not sure how a smoke grenade would work under water in RL, surely it would just be alot of smoke bubbles heading for the surface, some kind of ink grenade might work though, abit like an octopus's defense
mistyronin 1181 Posted May 26, 2014 If with a cheap smoke grenade you get this:
Gutsnav 13 Posted May 26, 2014 I can understand not throwing grenades (they wouldn't go far at all), but why have an underwater smoke effect without an ability to throw it? Same with chemlights.
CaptainAzimuth 714 Posted May 26, 2014 That video pretty much explains how they have it in game. You can throw a smoke nade into the water, and it will do that. You cannot however, drop one while in the water, so GG.
