-AL- 1 Posted August 6, 2002 I just got to the mission where I am supposed to capture the tanks, about mission 3 or 4. 1/2 asleep had a quick run, died, reverted & alas, no weapons. Never reverted until then. This is a HUGE bug in a game where the main aim is to collect weapons. No offence Suma but this is bad, it should be your number 1 priority. TheBrain 0 Posted August 6, 2002 For me the bug occured when I advanced from mission 6 to mission 7. I "fixed" it using a save game from mission 6 that was near the end of the mission. Luckily I have renamed the savegame before the mission ended (because the save file save.fps will be deleted if you advance to a new mission). Now I reverted the campaign to mission 6, started mission 6 and renamed my savegame back to save.fps. Now I have choosen Load and my old savegame has been loaded. Because my savgame was near the end of the mission I only had to finish the (few) remaining enemies and I successfully finished the mission. Now I advanced (again) to mission 7 without any problem (bug). I don't know if this is a general rule, but saving near the end of the mission, either using the save cheat or renaming the save file, may help you against the bug. Don't forget to rename your save game before advancing to a new mission! I hope this may help some of you
Zardoz 0 Posted August 6, 2002 @The Brain: This would mean that the weapon stash is part of the save.fps-file, which I really don't know. Can anyone confirm this? If the stash is _not_ part of save.fps (and I think it isn't, for what purpose else would have the objects-file?), one can easily run into the bug: assume you end a given mission and preserve the respective save.fps short before that missions end. Now, say e.g. two missions later, you realize that you miss a crucical part of equipment and decide to revert to your preserved save.fps. If the equipment is _not_ part of save.fps but of another file that had already changed too in between the two missions, you are stuck again. Question: where _exactly_ (i.e. which file) is the current weaponstash stored?

Question: where _exactly_ (i.e. which file) is the current weaponstash stored?<span id='postcolor'> I don't think that the weapons of the campaign are stored in the the save file. But the only person which can give you the answer is one of the programmers I only have an idea why this "trick" solved the problem for me. At the end of the mission the programm may attempt to calculate the weapons which you have currently under your "control" and add these weapons to your campaign weapons. Under some circumstances the programm fails to do this and you have no weapons left. So I don't know these circumstances and I might had only luck that the second time I have ended the mission "in a correct state" for the programm. By the way: 2 hours ago I had an other very annoying "bug" when I advanced from mission 8 to 9. I have collected tons of weapons in the base in mission 8 and loaded them in my truck. Among other things at least 3 PKs and 1 Dragunov. But at the beginning of mission 9 I had only 1 PK and no Dragunov.
Nagual 0 Posted August 7, 2002 To timmy: as you've tried replaying up to the same spot with no success, try this. I ran through it today and it may work. Start again, escape through the cutscenes, then when the mission loads (after briefing) hold down right shift key, and press the minus (-) key on the keypad. Then type "endmission" without the quotes. The mission will end and u will go to the next one. Keep doing that, check your weapon pool in the briefing before each mission, maybe stop at the ammo low mission and grab the trucks, but either way the campaign will provide some default weapons after each mission. By the time you get to the hostage mission, you should have some aks, a bizon, and some rpg launchers (if u do ammo low, arm your soldiers with good weapons before the mission finishes too, they will keep them) Then try continuing from where you got stuck, and it will hopefully retain your weapons pool. If that doesnt work, go into your username/saved directory and delete all reference to that campaign (objects file, weapons file, save files), then try the same method again. Hope it helps... bn880 5 Posted August 22, 2002 I just got this bug after Reckoning. I finished Reckoning with a Java, V-80, BRDM, Civil Truck under my command and various weapons. (probably not important) watched the cutscenes fully. read in detail the mission description. pressed cancel. quit OFPR. (TODAY) I started OFPR Clicked on the Fireworks mission Clicked on continue Weapons pool is missing. No Retry used. Will now save the files, then revert to cutscenes. Let me know if you want the Saved files. EDIT: Reverted to 2nd cutscene and got the weapons pool loaded. EDIT2: *** On purpose I pressed Cancel again after reverting from 2nd cutscene, without starting actual mission. Weapons pool is gone again Suma. So when someone hits cancel on Reckoning without starting the actual mission (not playing), the weapons pool is not loaded next time. (I have save, let me know)

bn880 5 Posted August 22, 2002 I originally backed up the users\xxxx\saved\campaigns\resistance I can go back to the state where my weapons pool is missing from Reckoning, then back up the whole users\xxxx without the missions and mpmissions folders (huge). Let me know. I didn't think any other folders were used.

If you can backup whole user folder, it is the safest solution.
bn880 5 Posted August 22, 2002 Ok good, I got the backup of the users folder before the tmp contents were overwritten with new data. I lost my weapons in the mission after Reckoning too, this time I saved and loaded several times using [shift - savegame], completed the mission, and boom, everything from weaponpool is gone. Just in case, making backup 2 of this users folder.
karynova 0 Posted August 23, 2002 I have just had a very different version of this common "lose weapons" bug: I had just finished playing The Pass before I went on vacation two weeks ago. All my men were fully stocked up with pistols, NV, Binoculars, RPGs, etc. When I got back today I loaded up my savegame and found that, while all the weapons in my pool were still intact, every weapon me or my men were carrying was gone. In their place was the standard equipment for a new soldier (AK47 CZ, Grenades, etc.). This is just as frustrating as losing your weapon pool because I had spent a lot of time collecting pistols and NV for all my men. Does anybody have any clues as to why this might happen? As I said, I finished The Pass, continued to the next mission, most likely clicked cancel to get out and quit and did nothing until today when I opened the game again. Argh. BoonieRat 0 Posted August 23, 2002 I think if the next mission starts with a different amount of men under your command they get standard issue. though you should have the original loadout... If the pool is still there you won't have lost the weapons. they're saved in a single folder. I think!!... Why havn't you swapped your mens AK47CZ rifles for AK74's just order them to take them off some dead dudes

jason h 0 Posted August 23, 2002 I had the same problem as others were having, when playing fireworks the second time my gear was gone. This is what I did to make me loose my gear: Finished reckoning where you blow up the helos Went through the two cutscenes Started fireworks without changing my gear. Passed the first update point got to the top of the hill, ended up getting killed, aborted the mission and ended playing for the night. The next night I went to play fireworks again, but reverted to the beginning of the mission since a continue was showing. Got into the briefing to change my gear and it was all gone. I was able to get my gear back the same way as others by reverting to the second cutscene after reckoning, letting it play and then starting fireworks. All by gear was back and I was able to play the mission.
bn880 5 Posted August 23, 2002 The problem was solved yesterday. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=17941
Cyrille V 0 Posted August 28, 2002 Thanks for your help with BIS, Bn880! Good work there. I wouldn't say that the problem is solved yet, but it is clearly identified yet, which is a huge step forward. How long did you have to test to find when and how the bug happens in the game?
bn880 5 Posted August 28, 2002 Well, the big problem with this bug (as with most in a final release) was certainly finding it, as I'm sure Suma will not disagree with. That's why I call it fixed, although not technically correct for everyone still using 1.75 (but big help for us). I spent perhaps 1 - 1.5 hours total trying to retrace what I did, write it down, double check and save all the files. I noticed when it happened rather quickly, the rest was just double checking what I noticed, I don't like to mislead people.
lonesoldier 0 Posted August 29, 2002 I have no idea what Suma was saying in that other topic. Anyway... cant wait for teh patch...
kuzmich 0 Posted September 3, 2002 Reproducing the bug. I just found it out after the First Strike , when you liberate hoostages having a team of two medics at the beginning. I wanted to use the Bizon I scavenged in the very first shoot out from a Speznaz, but it wasn't there.
