At least there should be a small utility program that connects itself to a BIS server and checks if there are any updates available. Now it can check which version(s) of OFP you have and which updates you need! Then you can either update directly or download the updates manually.

Do you have any virus scanner installed? Any other running tasks may decrease your system performance. Check your task manager to see if there are any time-consuming tasks.

The most difficult thing is to avoid the patrols. If you watch the patrol ways of the patrols you should be able to sneak in and out without beeing spoted.

I have a Gainward TI4200, Win2000, Detonator 41.09 and DirectX 8.1. No problems...

But remember that some programs which install spyware (e.g. kazaa) may not run any more if you remove the spyware installed by the program. But if you need those programs you can solve this by reinstalling the software (and of course the spyware :-( ). Mister Frag's tip regarding Teamspeak is absolutely correct. Is you have to use TS you shouldn't try to use heigh audio quality since this will result in increased bandwith needed by Teamspeak.

If you have ICQ, TS, (possible) filesharing running during a MP game this will effect your online game (and your internet browser)! All these tools will need bandwith, memory and CPU and you have not very much bandwith with your 56k modem. I don't think that a modem "wears out" from online gaming

Sorry, I have no further idea at this moment. Which operating system do you use (98, ME, XP)? Maybe someone else can help you. If not, you may want to write an eMail to BIS (OFP developers). See this for details.

Hm, nobody forces anyone to buy creative products But we must see, that they had a absolute monopoly in sound cards in "good old" DOS days because they formed the quasi standard for sound cards. So like most former monopolists (like Intel) they still act like they have a monopol (driver support etc.). But I think like in the Intel/AMD case Creative will learn the lesson because of the free market laws.

I have found some posts using the search engine. the search result This post may be interesting for you.

Maybe you should add more details about your system settings. Modem, ISDN card, ADSL, Network card, CPU, graphic card, ram etc. Do you use a firewall? Do you play in the internet or on a local network?

Wesley Clark Would be interesting how they managed it to assign each possible result to one leader .

Maybe India should put some money in their scruffy railroad system (killing hundreds of people every year) and Pakistan should invest in economy rather than building nuclear weapons and playing "you have stolen my toy" like in the kindergarten.

If you can not manage it, you may try to use the "save cheat", because I think the mission maker has forgotten to add some save points . Hold the left shift key and press the "-" key on your keyboard's numeric keypad. Then you can write "savegame" to save your current position. But remember: your old save game will be overwritten. So think before saving. With this little help you should be able to complete the mission, but it's still hard to play.
