The v-80

Recommended Posts

You're on about the mouse/keypad movement conflict!.

Usually if you press the free look key so's you can move your head around it goes away. It used to happen in tanks and other Vehicles as well. did you upgrade OFP to 1.46 before installing Resistance?. 1.46 fixed it for me in OFP.

PS. did you disable joystick support?. don't know if it makes a difference. I always do it straight off wink.gif ...

Well, surely taking it to an warzone where the enemy force has a minor tank force, limited AA ability, and is mainly infantry would be a fairly good way to test stuff.

I'm very sure stuff gets put into real war situations for testing. I mean, we only know about the wars in Iraq and Isreal and Afghanistan, like we're always hearing theres wars and incidents the public would never ever see or hear about. Since americans will only fight poverty stricken cavemen nowadays, and the russians are having trouble with AWOL bits of their country, it would be the ideal situation in which to try out new stuff.

Of course, the policy of NATO to destroy anything and everything from the air before sending in the troops would mean there would be little chance for the new abrams to be tested against anything other than a nastily barbed wire machine gun ice cream van, but i'm sure the russians would test out new stuff on someone if given the chance.

I might just be risking my left pinkie by saying this - but wasn't the F117 stealth thingy tested in the gulf?

I'm way more of a KA-52 boffin but i thought all hokums had the Vikhr, a true don among laser guided missles smile.gif

Have you got any other add~ons installed?.

It might be worth saveing your Campaigns and doing a reinstall from scratch sad.gif cause all that was cleared up for me with 1.46,(yeah the #'s are different in alot of patches).

Why would you want to go into auto hover? You can easily keep it still by yourself with a joystick/mouse and there will be no more shaky shaky.

well because if you dont use auto hover then look down with the camera the hokum will fly forwards following your cursor and youll end up hitting a house/tree/mountain

you might be interested to know that the 30mm cannon on the Ka-50 is the same as the one in the BMP-2. That's probably why it seems kinda weak against armor. As for shakiness, I haven't had that problem.

DAMN!! I'm getting it too now! sad.gif ...

First off, I just fixed the cooling(overheating) with my Gf3Ti500. I can bump it up now and the little square on the back of the card where the GPU lives is cool!(whoa yeah baby!!, bout fukin time!wink.gif anyone ever lapped their GPU?. no fun!.

Before I thought I was getting bad frames in the Helo mission 'Rats Nest' turns out its not bad FPS causing the jerky screen!. its like it no~matter what!.

It don't make any difference with me if you auto hover. it is 10X more noticable when you're not moving though. the screen, not the helo, shudders about side to side mainly, but up and down as well!.

If you havn't tried it, play 'Rats Nest' and go into a 'auto hover' once you've killed the bad guys, or before if you're hopeless wink.gif ., and hover~still(with or without auto) and see if the screen wobbles about. it does for me!. not so noticable when you're moving. though it does feel like a poor frame rate but is'nt...

Just use HE-ammo, it's much more powerful than AP-rounds (which is quite strange). With HE-ammo loaded, V-80 is very deadly against choppers/infantry/light armour. And for shaking, strange because I haven't noticed any shaking with it confused.gif.

It shakes like hell for me. It turns left to right a bit. BUt only when going real slow, or after maneuvers.

But atelast doesn't it seem like its balance on a pin? After I do turns and such I'll get locked nose down heading for the ground and usually can't pull out of it.

Same thing happens to me, The V-80's handling really sucks. I'm not even going to use it in any of my maps lol. The AI even has a hard time flying the damn thing, they end up crashing it lol!!!

I get loads more 'stalls' with the V80 than with other Helos'. it'll slip off to one side after a tight turn more often than not. the target lock on is not right(other helos and ground troops). the screen/Helo shake is not right. the handling is not right.AI crash when trying to fly it!...

I think it might have been rushed to meet the release date...
